Umm yeah, I dont think women get pulled over for being women. I believe women have it much easier than everybody else. Especially if you are pretty. Sad but true. Of course everybody at some point in their lives will go through a struggle. But Its easier to deal with when everyone is nice to you.
You seriously believe Hillary Clinton couldn't, and wouldn't, have beaten John McCain in the last election? All I can say is one word. Wow.
This is the problem. Being nice to someone just because she's attractive isn't really being nice to her. You shouldn't have to sex yourself up to earn equal treatment.
She wins on issues and better fit for the job, but the sexist remarks are much more PC and open than people realize. Hillary get killed for being career minded, cold (the joke is bill cannot stand here etc.) "man-like", and with the gender roles in place those are still taboo traits for a woman. She is very 1960's women's lib. Basically one of the trailblazers for getting professional women in the workforce. It is not a joke that most women in the 1960's went to college to get married then dropped out, or graduated with an education or nursing degree and quit their job once they got married.
She would have had her a** handed to her. It hurt her in the primary. People did not like her chances against McCain, but they liked Obamas.
this is ridiculous, she had a subtantial vote advantage from older women, of all races. besides that, this has nothing to do with women's rights, if women want to vote for Hillary they can. Younger people voted for Obama, over Hillary, over McCain
Sure. Just like Barack was going to have his a$$ handed to him because he was Black. Curbing more comment in the interests of civility.
I guess not (in votes, if not in delegates). Or how Barack benefited by the simple fact that the general public wanted a change. Badly. They would have felt that way if it was Barack or Hillary at the top of the ticket. Look at the Electoral College margin and the margin in votes in the general election. Hillary could have lost a lot of support from Republicans sick of their own party, and some independents, too, and still have won handily.
What does that have to do with her being hurt by the fact that some Democrats were pulled towards Obama because he stood the better chance at victory? It may have been the difference in the primaries. Closeness of the primaries tells us nothing about the general election.
Just imagine what will happen if all women in the world unite together and declare war on the male species..."No sex for men" would make a good slogan for them. Outcome? Men will surrender.
you said hillary wouldn't have stood a chance in the general election, you have nothing to base that on, especially since there are people who feel she actually won the primary based raw numbers.
stop living in a pre-lehman world. remember those confederate flags and obama signs? do you think all those people would care if it was hillary? they were losing jobs. thats all that mattered.
I'm just being truthful. You don't think that happens? It's not even just guys, but women take advantage of their own looks as well. Who says you have to sex yourself up? The world is much nicer to you when you have a pretty face. The ladies know what they have and know how to use it. I don't think any girls complain when they can sweet talk a cop out of a ticket. Of course women have it hard, I'm not saying they don't. But they also have advantages that guys don't have. Maybe its s sexist thing to say, but its true.
Obama dominates independents, but Hillary is not very popular among independents. She is way more polarizing, and I think in part because she is a female.
It's not an advantage if you have to w**** yourself out to benefit from it. For every woman who shows a little cleavage to a cop to get out of a ticket, there's one who doesn't and is summarily ignored. That kind of "advantage" does nothing but reinforce the dehumanizing patriarchal power structure.
