Our in-laws said we can have theirs if we want. I was wondering if there were any major issues with them. I never thought we would be a big SUV family but how can you pass up on such a kind offer? It has never been in a real accident and I don't think it has had any major issues. It has 100K miles on it.
"Major issues" like it gets poor gas mileage or major issues like what the hell are you talking about you are getting a free car take it now?
My parents own an older model (1999) It didnt fit in the garage because of all the crap that was in there so its spent the majority of its life outdoors. The major problem my parents had was spark plug issues. First I think it was recalled then they just kept dying. Other than that and the 12 mpg it works great.
I think I saw Jason Jennings driving one on Polk St. downtown a few years back. Seek Jason Jennings, and seek your answer.
Does it have the 32 valve or the 16 valve engine? If it has the 32V then take it fast. Those suckers are extint
I just wonder if there will be huge payments down the road. It would be a third car and I take the park and ride to work. We planned on our next car so I am super appreciative they would even offer this to us. Besides the extra 1000 dollars per year for insurance I was wondering if there were any issues I need to know about. I assume since it is a Ford engine it would be easy for a mechanic to work on.
Seems like a no-brainer to take it. Even if there are problems you can always sell it, free money. The only problem is if you feel like selling the car would offend the parents, assuming their intention is for you to get some use out of it. Then I would reconsider.
I think if I was going to sell it I would tell them and give them the money even though I know they would tell us to keep it.
