CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. (AP) -- Houston Rockets forward Terence Morris was arrested for speeding and driving with a suspended license. Morris was stopped Monday afternoon for driving 76 mph in a 60 mph zone on U.S. 340, according to police. Morris' Maryland driver's license was suspended in November for failing to complete a remedial driving course. Morris posted a $385 cash bond and was released, court records show. A hearing is set for June 5. Morris, selected in the second round of the 2001 draft by Atlanta, was traded to Houston for a future first-round pick. He started 12 games for the Rockets last season, averaging 3.8 points, 3.1 rebounds and 16 minutes. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news/ap/20020522/ap-rockets-morrisarrested.html Maybe we can get Brown and they can share a carpool???
Nice to see that our spectacular season is rolling along nicely. Someone should tell T-Mo that this is not the best way to get Rudy to notice him.
Everybody is allowed to screw up once, but if you are at the end of the bench you can't afford to be making these type of mistakes. It could end your career.
Morris was stopped Monday afternoon for driving 76 mph in a 60 mph zone on U.S. 340, according to police. Oh come on. Is this *really* newsworthy (directed at the AP, not directed at you, ArtV). I guess the suspended license things makes it "bigger", but it's not like he was drunk or going 120 in a 60 (like Ricky Williams) or anything like that.
Drew, you're a effing &$$hole. I hope you run into Tmo one time and say something stupid. He tried to fight me once, and judging from the pictures you posted of your puny self, he would beat the daylights out of you. YOU blow.
Peace. I didn't like it when I read the title of the thread, but driving 76 instead of 60 is really not a big deal.
yea . . obviously right past you on the freeway Hell . . . how many folx go 55 anyway esp in houston The License thing bugs me though He has the money . . and he has the time GO GET A FRICKING LICENSE STAND IN THE FRICKIN LINE like us commoners shhesssh Rocket River
T-Mo tried to fight you once and now you're his biggest fan on the BBS?? BTW, chill out bro. No need to make this personal.
Actually the whole thing's a part of Maryland law, if I'm interpreting the circumstances correctly, Morris more than likely had 5 to 7 points on his licence after getting a ticket at some point before november. 8 points in Maryland gets your license suspended, and 12 gets it revoked. When you get to the 5-7 range, the law says you have a total of a month to take a Driver Improvement Program in the state of Maryland. At which time he was in the midst of his first NBA season, and I'd guess not the easiest time to ask you new coach for some time off to go back home and take a class. It's stupid but the driving suspended charges will be dropped as soon as he takes the class and gets his license cleared. Then he'll just have to pay the fine for going 16 miles over the speed limit. All it all it's a pain but not that big a deal.
thanks for the clarification FORREAL . . .now i understand . . . . If i was working in houston and a license in Maryland. . . chances are that I could very well be in the same situation Rocket River
Basketball is physical. People get worked up. Friends almost get into or do get into fights not infrequently when it comes to basketball. BTW, Drewdog, not me, made it personal with his comment. You think Tmo's brothers wouldn't take it personal? Of course they would. So would anyone who knows him. Saying "Tmo blows" doesn't cash out to "I just don't think Tmo has much basketball ability or potential." It cashes out to "I think Tmo is a piece of $$$$ and a loser," and I would love to see Drewdog say that to Tmo's face. But that'll never happen, because it's Drewdog who's the piece of $$$$.
It takes about 15-20 minutes to get to West Virginia from Frederick, Md. Once you get into WVa, the highway soon changes into a super highway, with two lanes in each direction. He probably did 76 going down the long, long steep hill which is a few minutes into WVa. It would be an easy, easy thing to do. Hard to believe this TRock news is even being posted, of course unless you feed off the negative. News must be slow with the Rockets getting the #1 pick. FREDTERP
Absolutely! Talk about a non-issue, though I guess it was reported because he was actually arrested. Doubt if he ever saw a jail cell, though, he probably just reached into his pocket for the bond $.
PS: Art, I like your board name, ArtVandolet, from one of the best situation comedy shows ever. FREDTERP
