I have been trying to find an online photo of a graphic from an Astros telecast circa 2002. It was related to the Astros/Cardinals 'Co-Champion' controversy of 2002. The Astros, after defeating the Cardinals in the final regular-season game and winning the season series, 9-7, moved on as division champions, relegating the Cardinals to the wild-card slot in the playoffs. Not only were the Astros offended by the banner, but they defaced the cover of a St. Louis media guide and circulated it through their clubhouse with the words, "2001 N.L. Central Co-Champions" changed to "Wild Card." ----------------------- The graphic from the telecast was titled: "Notable Co-Champions in History", and it listed 'France- 1945' and some other historical references in addition to the 'Cardinals- 2001'. If I remember correctly, Jim Deshaies came up with the joke. I tried looking through the BBS Search for the graphic and was unsuccessful. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Though it's off-topic, but it reminds me of USC when they still claim to be National Champs or co-NC of 2003, when LSU won the BCS championship. Sports teams will always spin it to make themselves look better. Though, the Cards can suck it Hope you find the picture, I'd love to see it.
While you're at it....please find the picture of Oswalt smirking at Michael Barrett in Wrigley from a few years back.
