Article on a possible buyout of Hakeems contract, chek out. http://www.sportstalk.com/nba/rumors/index.shtml ------------------ "I don't think I'm better than anybody unless I'm on the court." Charles Barkley
Not too much new really.... that's actually from the Chronicle article, which really didn't state anything new: Here's the article: In what shapes up as mundane offseason, re-signing Mobley is top priority for Rockets We all knew a buyout was being considered, and wanted by both parties in some capacity. It provides no cap relief for the team however. ------------------ NOTHING BUT .NET CLUTCHCITY.NET
What does Hakeem have to gain by playing again next season? I admire him for wanting to honor his contract terms but he has nothing to prove, and would it not be honorable to walk away with skills still intact, as Chuck did,and not be remembered as a shadow of his former dominating self? Or are we to that point now? ------------------ "I don't think I'm better than anybody unless I'm on the court." Charles Barkley
Ok... Wouldn't some Hakeem be better than no Hakeem? Why would we pay him 15 million to do nothing when we could pay him 15 million to maybe give us 8-10 points a game & maybe 8 rebounds a game? ------------------ The Chuckwagon came, saw, and threw people through windows!
If Hakeem does play next season he will most likely finish his career with: 26,000+ points (needs 178) 13,000+ rebounds (needs 49) 3,000+ assists (needs 80) 3,700+ blocks (needs 48) Maybe it's selfish on my part, but I'd like to see him attain those career numbers. ------------------ I have a dream.........his name's Hakeem.
