i'm not sayin i agree with this, but i'm jus tposting it because it doens kinda make sense:

A backcourt of Francis and Williams would be unstoppable. No, Francis might not like it, but Williams is a much surer thing than Yao. Both players have the ability to swing between the one and two and both are smart enough to make it work. Mobley could either be a super sub or trade bait for a more established big man. Of course, that's not the only scenario if the Rockets were to take the artist formerly known as Jason Williams. Wouldn't it be ironic if Francis's lottery day luck got him a one-way out of Houston? Inconceivable? Almost. But it wouldn't be unprecedented. If the Rockets took Williams, Francis has enough value in the league to land them a top pick and another All-Star.

Minimally the Rocks should bring in Jay for a workout, to get the Bulls sweating. They may be able to squeeze the Bulls into swapping picks.

Mike Fratello said on PTI yesterday that if he was the Rockets, he would draft Jay Williams and either have a 3-guard rotation of Francis-Williams-Mobley or include Mobley in a trade for a big man.

Kornheiser also commented something like: "The nerve of the Rockets to send Steve Francis, who just a couple years prior completely through a fit at the NBA Draft , to represent the team at the lottery...and then he goes ahead and wins it!!! That's like a slap in the face!" Wilbon seemed to find it pretty amusing. :D

JW and Franchise together would not cause the Rockets to win one more game. We would get killed by just about every s guard including backups in this league.

    Yao Ming is a 7’-5” two-guard 3-point shooting specialist want-to-be.
Who doesn't like the contact in the paint.

Show me a good game he had with a center we heard of.

Draft Jay Williams for trade or keeps.

I like Francis, do i think he's the Franchise, I don't know yet, lots of guys can play well in the regular season, and then tank in the playoffs(and he has yet to take us there). My biggest worry is that his tone has changed form mid-season when he said "Before i consider re-signing i have to see that the team is on the same page as me" to what he said after the headaches(and now i hear he is having surgery on his shoulder), to "I'll sign a lifetime deal." My concern is that he knows something that we don't and his health is a bigger concern that he's leading us to belive, so he;s going after the max while he can. I just dont want us to be stuck like Phoenix with penny riding the bench with a 10+mill a year. Also Jay has played under pressure and excelled, he may not be a bad backup plan.

Jay would give the Rockets a cold blooded down the stretch player we sorely lack.

Mobley, has the right attitude, but he doesn't do a good enough job of creating for others to merit having the ball down the stretch. Moreover, he is not as good at finishing as Williams.

Jay W is a very nice player, but on the rockets he would be a backup or maby a slight improvment over Mobley. I find that a bad argument for passing on Yao Ming even though he's more of a gambel.

Actually, Ray Allen is gonn get kicked out of mIlwaukee, so how about drafting Jay will, and trading Franchise to Milwaukee for Ray allen and #13. Then move Cat to SF.

    Williams/Morris
    Allen/Torres
    Cat/Thomas
    Taylor/Griff
    Cato

Ok this is better, draft Jay will, trade Franchise to Milwaukee for Allen and the #13. Then move Cat to 6th man. And Draft Marcus at #13 and Ely at #15, Juan dixon at the #38 and we still have the #53 pick for Casey Jacobsen.

    our lineup:

    Williams/Dixon
    Allen/Cat
    Griff/Thomas/Jacobsen
    Taylor/Ely
    Cato/Marcus

Because we still won't have a center. = First round out in the West.

Please note there have been zero rumors of anyone wanting to trade for the first pick to draft anyone but Ming. If we don't intend to draft Ming then we would be foolish not to trade before the draft. We would get significantly less for JW than Ming. Chicago would probably trade the #2 and ? to get Ming

Chicago wants Jwill, they'll only draft Ming if he's not there.
