I have read this as well. I have a piece here that I would like to add on here if I may.... "Rockets guard Steve Francis, still bothered by the right shoulder strain that forced him to miss the last three games of the season, will undergo arthroscopic surgery May 30, team trainer Keith Jones said Monday. Francis' agent, Jeff Fried, is also trying to schedule a trip to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., for investigation of Francis' migraine-like symptoms. Francis has been adhering to a strict diet to treat Meniere's Disease, a potential trigger of the symptoms, but in recent weeks he has had few problems with the headaches and dizziness that plagued him throughout the season." -Houston Chronicle Im a bit mystified concerning Meniere's Disease which was mentioned. Anyone have any idea what to expect from this disease or what the effects are?
This worries me a lot,he will be out for to 4- 6 weeks for rehab. I don't know how much could this effect his future, but it sounds bad.
Better than what Iverson and Snow both did, wait until the regular season starts and then get surgery.
the shoulder surgery doesn't sound bad at all, but i'm glad he's taking care of it now. on the other hand i'm still worried about his headaches, hopefully the mayo clinic will solve it.
Meniere's Disease is a life-long condition where the water level in the inner ear gets too high causing dizziness and vertigo. Age and salt make it go higher. The water cannot be drained as the bone in the inner ear is too fragile and would break killing the person. This is all that I know about it, my father in law has it.
Meniere's disease is one (major) cause of Francis' migraines. As to the surgery, it's never good to get cut on, but everything I've read indicates this is pretty routine, and rehab shouldn't be that big a deal.
