    I know this topic has been beaten like a dead horse (whatever that's meant to mean....:confused: ) but here I go anway.

    Since Morpheus collapsed, I've been left without a good download program. Are there any programs that do not contain SpyWear/bugs/viruses/other crap that will completly screw up my PC??? If so, which is the best one to get, and why???

    Any help appreciated...

    Damn, I didn't know Morpheus collapsed. ****! No wonder I was always at 0 Kbs!:mad:

    Anyhow, I switched back over to iMesh, its pretty good although there ain't search results like the old Napster...ahhh the bad old days!:)

    I was gonna post this but haven't, until now. Thanks to this thread, I would like to present to you the next best thing since Napster....

    SOULSEEK

    This program is just about as easy as Napster, but without the ultra-large community. It's slowly growing and the server is run by one guy with a really big connection. Sometimes the server goes down, but that's just a minor inconvenience. This P2P program rocks! Please read all FAQ's and troubleshooting and if your behind a firewall you will have to share some ports in order for this to work. Also be sure to select your shared folder. They have a message board for you to join or peruse for questions. The program/download is relatively small.

    AND NO SPYWARE!!

    You don't hear much about it, but Aimster works very well when I use it.

    I tried them all.
    KAZAA lite is not worth it. You can only get 128KB MP3s. And Kazaa Lite DOES contain SPYWARE. Get ADWARE and run it and you can see for yourself. Only difference in KAZAA Lite and Regular Kazaa is the advertisements.
    BearShare is okay.
    AudioGalaxy is nice,
    But I think the best is WinMX. You can get ALOT of matches back on almost anything and you can sort by bitrate, etc... similar to the old Napster.
