Obviously beating the Jazz is a plus.

But you can't beat the Kiss of Death. Legendary.

Elie -- no contest. I've seen the Eddie Johnson game winner maybe twice (not counting when they show it in NBA commercials). When it happened, and in a replay of the game some years later. I really don't get much pleasure out of it, knowing that the Jazz got the last laugh in that series (and have owned us ever since).

Lol funny you mention that, one of my best friends is from New York and he always complains and say that Hakeem fouled Starks and that we should have never won...We always get into heated debates about Ewing vs Dream

    Ralph Sampson's was awesome.

    Than EJ's.

    Than Elie's.

    Than T-macs vs the Mavs.

EJ's was a classic buzzer beater, but we were undone by an even greater one later in the series. I will say no more on that.

Mario's wasn't exactly a buzzer beater, but it certainly slew the Suns--game seven in their house. So, it is a clear winner, IMO.

However, if you throw in Sampson's, then you have one of the great buzzer beating, series ending shots of all time. It sent the Rockets directly to the NBA finals in one of the great shocking upsets in NBA history. Famous Laker fans have recounted it as their worse moment in watching the Lakers. The only way to top it would be to win the NBA finals with such a shot. The Rockets have many great moments in the Finals, but nothing quite that dramatic.

Historically, Elie's shot was more important and directly won a game 7. It eventually led to our second championship.

But I voted for EJ because I was at the game with my Dad, and it's still the best game I've ever been to. My Dad took me to so many baseball games and also got me a ticket to see the Astros in the World Series. It was awesome that I had season tickets that year and could take him to that Rockets game.

The other strike against the EJ shot is the next home game for us. I really, really hate the Jazz.

I agree. That is the truest of the buzzer beater. Elie's shot iced the game, so did Maxwells.

We beat the legendary Laker team, no excuses either, it was all out battle.

there is a special place in my heart for the Eddie Johnson shot. My brother had season tickets that year and gave the tickets to that game to my mom and I.

The crowd was so deflated by the play before and I remember yelling for people to cheer the team on during the last posession. The feeling in the place after that shot was electric. One of the best times I've ever had.

    Thanks Scott.

I agree with you.The Sampson shot also was harder to execute than the rest, that's why it gets my vote as the best game winner in Rockets history.

When you are talking about celebrations to end the game. I don't think you can beat EJ running down the court, jumping, with that look on his face. In terms of significance I don't think you can beat the Kiss of death.

I was in the building when EJ hit his, so of course that is my favorite, I get goosebumps when I think about it.

But the kiss of death led to a ring, so I voted for that.

Well since I became a Rockets fan once Barkley was traded here its EJ by a long shot. I remember watching the game and flipping out when he made it.

Elie's Kiss of Death was so monumental in my life... I recently chose a locker numbered "17" as a foretelling of success during my TDI exam.

It may have helped (my confidence going in to take the exam, at least)... I took it as a motivational moment.

    I passed.
