I tried searching to see if there was a thread but couldnt find one. But I saw that this show was coming out today on DVD here in the US and so I decided to give a look since the premise looked entertaining and related to my very own personal field of work. the seasons seem to be very small 6-8 episodes I watch the first 4 episodes last night and it was freakin HILLARIOUS! It is "british humour" of course but I could not stop laughing. I read that it airs on BBC America out here but I do not know how far into the show BBC airs here. I think season 3 just finished in the UK. A brief synopsis of the show: A story of an IT team at a company. The main male lead is your typical apathetic IT guy who cares more about hooking up and trying to be the man, the second guy is your extreme uber IT nerd with no social skills whatsoever and the last person is their new female manager who knows nothing at all about computers but is stuck in her new role. IMDB link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0487831/ if you havent seen it yet I would definitely recommend checking it out and if has been posted before and I just couldnt find the thread lock/merge as mods see fit.
I've seen all of seasons 1 and 2. Good stuff, I liked it. Also they started showing "The Mighty Boosh" on adult swim recently, which involves some of the same people. Of course that show is pretty damn absurdist.
thanks for the heads up. i think i heard about it a while back, but never saw an episode. sounds good.
I don't want to oversell it, but the first episode of the 2nd season (the one where they go to the musical) is quite possibly the funniest half hour of television I've ever seen.
its not a typical brit humor kind of show. its more american really with the obvious jokes n big laughs. i think the best characters are the bosses.
IT Crowd + Black Books + The Office + Garth Marenghi + AD/BC = some of the best comedy you'll ever see. End of story. Oh, and throw in Brass Eye while you're at it.
Great show, they had been airing all the episodes on IFC on Tuesday nights here in the US.. I know they finished season 3 in the UK some time ago and the last few season 3 episodes just aired on IFC a few weeks ago.. From what I've read their not sure if the show will get picked up for another season .. IMO, this show has been the best show to come out of the UK and that includes The Office ..
"I'm disabled..." how did it happen? "I don't know..." I love that show. I don't think season two was quite as funny as the first though.
so on my lunch break i went home and watched the musical episode. oh my god I was rolling the entire time that was one of the best episodes of any show I have ever seen. I could not stop laughing when Jen turned around to order a drink and Moss was right there asking what she wanted to drink. awesome...I cant believe I was oblivious to this show until now
IT Crowd is awesome. There's also the BBC show about researchers at a university. It has similar humor though the character's aren't as funny at IT Crowd. Its called 'Lab Rats'
Ditto...I've been watching this show over the past week and absolutely love it. Like everyone else, the musical episode had me laughing so hard my stomach ached. The characters interact so perfectly with each other to create a truly funny, laugh-out-loud show. I'm pretty picky about comedies, but IT Crowd blows me away. Last night we watched the episode where Roy becomes unknowingly involved in a robbery...hilarity ensues. I wish I had gotten into this show sooner!
I just downloaded the first two seasons and watched the first couple of episodes -- hilarious. I'm a big fan of the BBC version of The Office and Extras...I'm surprised I never got into this show earlier.
Oy! Did you see that ludicris display last noight? Putting in my two cents on this show. Best damn comedy I've seen in a long, long time. The first three seasons are on Netflix streaming right now, and they are filming season four right now. Must see for anyone who likes comedy.
Just finished season 3 two nights ago and I really enjoyed it. Too bad it's only 6 episodes per season.
After thinking about it, 6 episodes might be good just for the fact they aren't forced to do a lot of filler episodes.
My coworker has raved about the show and told me to watch it since it's available on Netflix streaming. We work in web development, so I figured it'd be pretty relevant and therefore, even better than usual. So, I got around to watching the first episode last week and thought the jokes were obvious and punchlines could be seen from a mile away. Just not my cup o' tea at all. Surprised I'm the only person in this thread that doesn't like it.
