if you put yourself into Yao's situation, i would say if i passed 1st round that's big achievement given that fact that he did not have that in his entire NBA career Is it Yao's fault? or T-Mac's fault? never get out of 1st round
Thanks for the read. I like the realism in Yao's thought process. In past seasons, we all used to pee ourselves silly when we finally clinched a playoff birth. Now, after all the seasons of game 7 or game 6 defeats, the Rockets know that simply making the playoffs is not enough. Full steam ahead.
Dude it takes steps. You don't go from loser to winner that fast (Celtics don't count cause that whole team was different). The first Clutch City team mentioned that making past the first round then almost beating Seattle gave them confidence. Getting to the 2nd round will be a building block to something more special.
With all the crap this season, anyone who says they'll be disappointed with anything less than a championship is delusional. "second round. at least" does not sound like he's expecting a ticker tape parade.
There is a difference though in being happy that you made the 2nd round...which is normal...and then celebrate to make the 2nd round. I'd be embarrassed if our guys were celebrating on the court that we made the 2nd round. Like someone said earlier, a celebration should only occur if we we win on a buzzer beater. Otherwise be happy about it but don't make sucha big deal about something so miniscule. We can make the 2nd round this season and then get elminated in the 1st next season. This isn't clutch city teams.
I don't care about the 2nd rd. If the best players on the team were 24, cool, but not with this squad. Once they went into "win 8ow" mode all bets were off.
