Phew, close game. Good time for OKC to win their first road win against a team with a winning record. Back in the 2nd seed!
NBA.com has us in 2nd. I assume it's a mistake if division record is ahead of conference record in tiebreakers.
The Spurs panicked and that is very uncharacteristic of them. Maybe they were out of timeouts. Or maybe they wanted the element of surprise instead of calling one. Anyways, you can tell the Thunder really like playing for Scott Brooks rather than PJ Carlesimo.
At the moment, it's a 3 way tie with SA and Portland. We win the 3 team tiebreak and are 2nd at the moment. We're a combined 5-3 vs DEN+SA. Denver is 3-4 vs HOU+SA. San Antonio is 3-4 vs HOU+DEN. We have the better record, thus we're 2nd. Of course when Denver wins tonight, they'll be 2nd with SA 3rd and us 4th.
Thunder not so comical anymore though. They come out and execute, i'm guessing they lose a lot of games now due to their lack of talent. could be a great night for the Rockets!
If you sort by division on NBA.com, they have us behind the Spurs. If you sort by conference, they have us ahead of the Spurs. Does that make sense or is it just not updated correctly?
Denver is in 2nd place now. Why do they have the advantage on the rockets in the tie breaker? How does that work?
It makes perfect sense. In a tiebreak between all 3 teams (HOU, DEN, SA), Houston wins it. In a tiebreak vs. just the Spurs, the Spurs win it.
It makes sense on the fact of different tie break rules for 2 or 3 teams tied. If it ended today like it is (w/out nuggets beating knicks): Spurs would win the division but end up 4th, we would get 2nd in division but end up 2nd.
It have alot to do with the 3 way tie with denver. like the poster above stated, if and when dever win tonight they'll be 2nd spurs 3rd and we'll be 4th again.
Is it destiny or luck of the draw? Everytime the Rockets move up or down a spot the Jazz does the same.
At the end of the night, we'll be 4th and they'll be 6th (7th if New Orleans can get off their asses and beat Sacramento).
