I've followed George Williams since he and I were in middle school together, and it seems he's never gotten the chance to showcase his skills at UH. (You see him having a lot of 7-9, 6-7 nights from the field while the guards are all 8-20 and so on.) Anyway, what do you think about the Rockets taking a flyer on Williams in the second round, hoping that his shooting improves so he can play the SF? He's certainly athletic enough.

i don't know if the rockets need him so much but i've watched alot of him at uh and i think he can be a quality player in the nba. some team could get a potential steal with him.

I'd be very surprised if George Williams stayed in the draft. It would be in his best interest to return to UH next year.

See, normally I'd definitely think another year of college is in order. But it doesn't seem the coach wants to run the offense through George. He seems to be in love with his guards, even though George is by far the best player on the team. I believe that is why his scoring average has dipped every year--he's a hard worker, so he can't be getting worse, he's just not getting the shots. So anyway, I don't see another year of college in the UH system improving his draft status, so I don't really think he has a choice. He may land in the NBDL, but at least he'd get decent coaching there. I may be way off base here, but that's my opinion.

I've gotta to disagree. Last year Truscott and Dominick Smith were both better than Williams. I believe Truscott was named team MVP. Williams has never developed the ability to create his own shot. At his size, if he doesn't do that, he won't be in the NBA.
