Madmax, I wasn't part of YL, but knew some people who were in it. I hung out with lot of artsy, literary types in high school...lol. Extra-cirricular activities wise, i was the editor of the school paper...remember the oracle? haha...

it's always cool to meet an ex-spartan...

Just a wild guess here, (I can't remember it) was it something like the Sealy Comet?

Eric had a great time with the Rams players. He had several nicknames like "Number One" - because he was a number one draft pick and "Mr. Benny" - after the late Jack Benny - because his teammates joked about his caution with spending money.

    haha thanks man...

i'm currently servin in the Korean military...i wanted to join the US Rangers (of the Korean Augmentation of US army), but pretty much got screwed,...lol long messy story. I've lived in the states for like 2/3 of my life...and I'm in a country which I havent been to since like junior high...talk about major culture shock.

I graduated from UT last spring...I was set to work in San Fran as a fin analyst..got axed..joined the military...now working at the ministry of defense...hopefully i can head back to Texas once I'm done here. I LOVE H-town. Would like to settle there for good.

anyways, I pretty much devoted my high school life to the oracle...pulling off crazy stunts...getting called into see Mr Dealy...lol. Plus we would get the bagel places on memorial drive to donate free bagels and mugs through coupons...that really boosted our popularity, but lot of people went crazy trying to cut out all the coupons. I heard we single handedly put bruegger's and brooklyn out of business....oops

I'm pretty much a lurker on the bbs,..but i've decided to post more recently...

what are you up to these days MadMax?

Yeah...I saw those coupons in the Oracle when the kids from YL would use them. You're right...those bagel places didn't last real long!!

Were you there when there was talk about moving to the Westchester campus??? I was one of the major players who fought that before the school board. You may have written an article about me that appeared in the school newspaper! :) There were a couple done in the local sections of the Chronicle.

I am an attorney. Like you, I love H-Town...and I love the west side of town, out near Stratford. I live out that way with my wife and my 2 year old son. Still go to the occasional SHS sporting event when I can. My son likes going to watch football, so we take him out to Tully!

I assume you know Mr. Dealy isn't there anymore...he retired last year. There's a new lady in charge over there.

SHS was just an amazing school. In my opinion, it's a testament to how good public education can be. I would love for my son to have the opportunity to go to school there and the connected junior highs and elementary schools. My sister and brother both graduated from there, too....my sister is there teaching now!
