Ming didn't say much at this interview. He cannot say too much at this sensitive moment. I think he doesn't care which team will draft him. In fact, many Chinese fans like Rockets. They cheered at the BBS when they knew the Rockets won the lottery. They believe this is the best result for both: Ming and Rockets. It's those who want to make money on Ming care about it. That is the rule of Market.

There is a rumor that Ming was told not to be too good at the public workout at Chicago. I believe this is just a rumor. But I BELIEVE that somebody does want to control the draft result.

Wow very interesting stuff... Do you believe this rumor Windand Sea?...

I have to be honest it is that kind of imformation that scares me a bit when thinking about drafting Ming... I mean how much control will they have over him... will they be able to call him back anytime... It is a gamble but as reported Ming saying. "take gamble take result "

It is also very positive to know we didn't even see his best at workouts. I have to say the little I saw of him in workouts makes me believe he was just doing what was necessary... And if the guy shot 21 for 21 and blocked 21 shots in one game there has to be more to his game...

Interesting stuff thanks for the post...

Very interesting. Welcome Windandsea. To restate a question from an earlier post, how would you compare Wang Zhi Zhi and Yao Ming ?

    Welcome Windandsea

I am very happy to read posts from China. I have been unsure about the Rockets drafting Ming mostly because we are so uninformed here about Ming and his status with the Chinese Government. Getting posts with a Chinese perspective should be very informative.

Welcome again and thanks for your input.

thanks for the information....we would like to see many folks all over the world wearing our jersey's for sure....

the one thing everyone forgets about Yao is that he is 19 or 20 still. he would only be a sophomore in college here...he has so much time to mature and get used to the physical play. I do not think there is a sophomore in the US that is ready for the physical play in the NBA. In fact, all players coming in, especially the younger ones, all say that the physicalness of the NBA is the hardest thing to get used to. Most inside type players need about a year to get used to it and the younger ones need 1-2 years. So, his lack of physicalness does not bother me.

I would love to see how he compared to other US college players on a daily basis. I bet he would have averaged 18/12 in US College Division I. What are your thoughts?

Yes, Welcome aboard the Rocket ship Windandsea.

Ming is the answer to our Rocket teams needs.

I mean come on.....a CENTER who passes the ball, and plays defense?

Our team surely doesn't need that.....now does it? (Sarcasm intended)

    ;)

What's the record of most on-line users at one time again?! I think it'll be SHATTERED if Yao's a Rocket come June 26th. :D :D :D

Welcome aboard, Windandsea! Great to have you!

Word of advice: We like to tease each other around here. So don't take us too personally, it's all in fun.

I read windandsea's comment and then I posted this reply w/o reading the thread first. Awesome. I hope Ming works out well if we draft him, I love this: the Chinese coming to the world's best web site. I hope they don't crash the server!

OK, now I'll read the thread.

Welcome the board windandsea!!! We appreciate your comments and look forward to you keeping us updated with Yoa news from China.

Tell all of your English speaking friends that this is the web site for Houston Rocket basketball fans.

Yoa is very lucky to have been drafted by the Rockets. The Rockets are a good team that are fun to watch. Last year, we all expected the Rockets to make the playoffs. Unfortunately, the Rockets were devastated with injuries. Without the injuries, the Rockets make the playoffs and are not even in the lottery!

A healthy Rockets team plus Yoa should make the playoffs for many years to come.

wow..... I love the rockets so much, and I absolutely abhor that they get absolutely no respect on the national or international scene, the more and more I think about Ming the more and more I think that this is the answer for the entire franchise, I mean, if anything else hes says he patterns his game after Sabonis, so we get a big intimidating chinese in the center who passes the ball well, blocks shots (he can touch the rim for gods sake) and we become the center of basketball for billons of chinese, "the rockets will become are home team" crap man, roll the dice, nothing but upsdie in my opinion, there doesnt seem to be any other answer....
    peace
hp is right, we need a BIGGER BOAT!
    hooray!!!!
