Most places will refund you gift card money. Especially if you said you asked someone for a gift card for your Birthday from another place and they messed up getting you the wrong one. Or, try buying something and then returning it. As gift card is better than cash at most retail outlets as they don't have to pay Visa 4-5% for their purchases. Then holding cash is a hassle as you need a good safe and have to pay for a brinks trunk reviews expenses , and finally checks bounce or could be stolen. I've returned gift cards a couple times with no hassle. One at Circuit City, the other at CompUsa. I'd expect the same from Best Buy.
