    No if the spurs lose all their remaining games and the suns win out, the suns will be 1 game ahead of the spurs. The spurs have played one fewer game than us. By the way, is NBA.com wrong on the current seeding just like ESPN? We should be the 3rd seed, should we?

    Being in the playoffs was expected. I'd rather the Suns won tonight. They're now on a 3 game losing streak and are going to be even more motivated against the Rockets (road game) next up.

    hmm no. the spurs and the rockets have same number of wins of 48. they have one fewer loss since they've played one less game so far. since they have a 2-1 edge on the suns, they too have clinched.

    It's because we have the tie-breaker against Phoenix. No matter if we lose every game for the rest of the season, Phoenix cannot finish above us. Because the Spurs have played 1 less game they can't say that yet.

    That's not quite true.

    With the loss tonight, the Suns can win no more than 48 games.

    The Rockets, Spurs, and Nuggets all have 48 wins, so they're assured of no worse than a tie.

    However, the Spurs and Rockets have both won the season series over the Suns and have the tie break, so they are guaranteed to finish above Phoenix.

    The Suns are up 2-1 on the Nuggets, and theoretically if they won out (including another game against Denver) and the Nuggets lost all of their games, the Suns would tie the Nuggets and have the tie break. So the Nuggets need just 1 more win or Sun loss to clinch a Playoff spot.

    Now I can sit and relax maybe even make it out the first round this year for a change.

    I wonder how T-Mac feels thinking we might not make it this far or climb the playoff standings potentially second place like we did without him. :D

    Suns1-3 Spurs 0 game left
    Suns2-1 Denver 0 game left
    Denver2-1Spurs 0 game left

    so,
    when Rox and Suns both are 48-34, Rox are the 8 spot, Suns LOTTRY;
    when Spurs and Suns both are 48-34, Spurs 8 spot, suns lottry;
    when denver and suns both 48-34, suns 8 spot, denver lottry;
    when rox, spurs and suns 48-34, spurs 5-3, rox 4-3, sun 2-5, suns lottry;
    when rox, denver and suns 48-34, rox 5-2, suns 3-3, denver 2-5, denver loto;
    when spurs, denver and suns 48-34, spurs 4-3, denver 3-3, suns 3-4, suns Loto;
    when all four team are 48-34, rox 7-4, spus, 6-5, denver 4-6, suns 4-6, denver lottry.

    The only condition is Dal, NO, Jass and Por are all better than 48-34.

    suns 2-2 portland,
    suns 0-2 NO, 1 game left
    suns 1-2 Dal, 1 game left
    suns 2-2 jass,

    SPURS 3-1 SUNS,

    so, it means, SA Spurs has clinched a playoff spot, no matter what the games left will be.

    i believe there was a thread in why we are 4th and not 3rd. something along the lines that denver is a division leader and we are not. even if we have the same rec and own a tie break over them. idk, thought it was weird too. apparently gotta have a clean cut better record.
