meh, both companies could probably just stop advertising all together at this point. People who want an apple product and can afford it are going to buy one, and there's very, very little that can be done to reverse that trend at this point. People who know they want a machine with Windows and don't care at all about OSX are going to stick to PC, for whatever reason -- better price / performance ratio, gaming, whatever, are pretty set in their ways. People who just need something that works for 700 bucks already have their decision made for them...and frankly, the girl in this advertisement probably got a pretty damn good product for 700 dollars, for whatever that's worth.
That's my opinion, except I'm willing to pay the extra cost. It's worth it to me, it's not to others, and that's fine. And I don't give a sh** about cars and couldn't imagine spending more than $25k on a car in my life...even if I won the lottery tonight. I just want to go from A to B and get it over with. Others love to hit the road. But that's just me. But I guess I'm just a doucebag who spends more money on computers to feel superior so I'm probably doing it wrong.
I love Macs, and I like PC's. I have 3 PC's so I actually like PC's. But that ad is stupid. She bought a freaking HP!!! That is like buying a new Yugo that is just going to keep breaking down consistently and giving you problems for 3 years while you wish you had not skimmed on getting a better computer. The premise of the ad was pretty good, smart, and well done, but they should have sent her somewhere to find a computer like with those specifications that is not an HP. Also why buy a laptop that has a 17 inch screen? They are so heavy & big, you can't really use them like a real laptop.
HP makes by far the best and most reliable laptops out there.. many people who used them PROPERLY would tell you that.. their hardware and design kick Dells and Toshibas a$$es any day of the week..
Well that's not Apples to Apples. Is it? Professional graphic designer? MAC. Every other career in the world? Preference. Most people? PC.
In insurance terminology this would be "the law of large numbers." More people own PC's, so automatically you hear more stories about PC's. It's common sense.... not elite sense. FWIW - I'd love a MAC if my "hobby" of graphic design had ever become a real career in it... Myabe some day I'll toy with the idea of owning one. I trained on one in college, for graphic design... and yes, for that, and video and music editing, it is superior... But in all certainty, for the casual graphic designer, music editor, video editor... the PC is very adequate these days... since dual and quad core especially so. I'm a PC for practicality, and a MAC for kicks... maybe.
Link, please. Because I'd kinda like a new laptop (and that would be 1/4th the price of the cheapest MacBook Pro).
I have always wondered something... Mac people have always claimed that their computers are easier to use, but most of them just use their computers to surf the web or casual light work. I mean, is it really that much easier to surf the web on a mac than a pc?
sooo...if i look at A LOT of p*rn are macs safer? i think this is the real question we are getting to.
