Anybody going to the Westheimer block party tomorrow?

    I know, I know it’s not SXSW but I think I’ll go. My cousin of JUZCOZ is playing along with some of their Esthetic Noise labelmates like the Tonton’s and Studemont. And, Devin the dude will be there. Anyway, 20 bucks gets you in to see anybody all night, seems like a good deal.

    Nice to see bigger name artists like Health, St. Vincent and Indian Jewelry show up. How come I don't see Young Mammals on the list? They are one of the better up and coming bands out of Houston.

    I see the La Porte-based Buxton is on there. Everyone should really check out this band. A must-see IMO. Folk meets Alt-Country type of sound for anyone interested. :cool:

    Yeah, but Health is crap. I don't see the hype behind that band, but it's whatever.

    Indian Jewelry has strong ties in Houston, so it doesn't surprise that they played this. They play it quite often actually, if I'm not mistaken.

    Young Mammals played their last show for a while last night. Good friends of mine. You should pick up their new album if you haven't. Fan-freaking-tastic.

    Haha I love Buxton. Wasn't a fan for a while, but lately they seem to be getting better and better... can't explain it.
