great so I think my iphone head set has gone to crap...I have such terrible luck with these. I broke one last year when closing my car door. I've sent another through my washer and dryer and had that destroyed. My very first pair just died on me slowly (everything started wearing out the mic button stopped working)

so now I am on my new pair and not sure what happened but the left ear bud has busted. I am not sure why the only time I play my music loud is at the gym when there is so much noise and they have their own pop music in the background. But now the left bud just keeps buzzing now.

anyone have this happen can it be easily fixed? if not anyone recommend any third party headphones/mic sets that can work for the iphone? I dont mind paying a little bit more for a nicer head set that is higher quality since apple already charges 30 bucks for their own crappy version. Looking for one with a mic since I use it as my "handfree" device when in the car.

    thanks in advance

Beats by Dre. They come with the iPhone audio cable which also has a mic on it.

Apple's headphones are very sensitive. They usually burn out in about a year or so, and maybe even quicker if you like to play loud music all the time. There isn't a solution to it, the left ear bud is dead now. There's nothing you can really do about those iPhone headphones. I would recommend something with Sony or Toshiba headphones. They usually last.. also, the cheap ones on eBay that sell for like $5 are also great, I bought mine from eBay 2 years ago and they still work perfectly even if I play loud music. Hope this helps.

Nah, I don't think headphones are worth $300... I mean, he's just looking for basic headphones, any good ones that last will do.

i have a set of the bose QC2s that I use for my computer and on planes and stuff so i dont need the other set of dr.dre headphones

this was a pretty new set of headphones that I bought back in early feb and I hardly play anything loud except at the gym which I've only recently started to go to.

I dont mind paying up to 75 bucks for a pair of headphones that are good and have the mic on it (it doesnt need to have the answer/music controls that the iphone headset has)

I bought a pair of Nuforce NE-7M earphones/headset for my girlfriend based off of the great reviews at head-fi.org and amazon.com. They go for about $50 and sound fantastic. I've had experience with quite a few earphones such as various sonys, jvc marshmallows, ultimate ears super.fi 5 pro, and westone 3's. These Nuforce earphones will keep pace with the $180 super.fi 5 pro. They're a great value and work very well. I've also had great experiences with Nuforce's customer service department. I received a defective headphone amplifier from them and they quickly replaced it and paid for the return shipping for me. I think you should give them a try. Found at amazon.com

Yoyo....since you own some QC2, you already know the sound of Bose.

My post comes from my iPhone while I'm jammin out on my Bose On-Ear Mobile Headphones w/cell mic. Basicly, since the On-Ear set shares the same design as the QC3's, the On-Ear set is a noise cancelling set by design, even though not in name or description. And the music is loud, clear and thumping, better then any other headset Ive paired with my iPhone. (except the QC3) Best of all, the mobile set comes bundled with the mic cord for use with the iPhone on calls. Sure its $199 at the Apple Sore or Best Buy' but for a headset to roll out with on the go, you wont regret the purchase.

If the price is too steep....SkullCandy Smokin Budz or FMJ. Both under $100.
