Denver forward Linas Kleiza has been fined $25,000 by the NBA for verbal abuse of officials after a game against Washington on Friday.

The league didn't disclose what Kleiza said to the officials in the game that the Nuggets won 116-105.

Seriously, the league is getting too strict with this kind of stuff... they are just out to make money because of the recession IMO.

I think they have a serious officiating problem and they are fining anyone within the organization(players/coaches/executives) that says anything to put it in a negative light.

I still don't understand how you can be fined at all for complaining about officiating. You should be able to say whatever you want considering whatever you say won't affect an outcome of a game. Secondly, officiating in the NBA is absolutely HORRIBLE. I don;t think I have seen a sport with worse officials than what the NBA has had for the last few seasons. Its never been very good, but lately it has become a joke imo.

Yup, there's no accountability for their actions. You can't even criticize them when it's clear they make mistakes. Great way to help the integrity of your sport when the people who are supposed to uphold the rules have no fear of discipline.

The Nuggets are some fake thugs that complain about everything. They probably practice with their coach.

The NBA likes to cover their azzes by fining anyone who bad mouths them. The refs should be fair game, they make so big mistakes.

A bunch of thugs complaining over a $25K fine.
Wow NBA is really trying to put a hole in their wallets.

I'm not even close to having $25K in my savings account. :(

Old news. Kleiza's a moron. I've been counting the days until he's off of my favorite team for about a month now.

What's his problem? He had managed to become a respectable role player who hustled when he was overmatched.

I'll take him off your hands. You can have Brian Cook.

He stopped hustling. He now thinks he's a scorer and is in one of the worst slumps I've ever seen. He's neverr been a good defender or rebounder, and when he starts being a ball-stopper he officially becomes worthless.

    That's unfortunate.
