I'm just going to throw some stuff out there to discuss: Where is Wally Szerbiak (I know I didn't spell that right) going to go? After losing in the first round AGAIN, the TWolves are going to make some changes. I don't think KG is going anywhere, much as the rumors are flying. Who could they get that was better? Anyway, Wally, despite being arrogant and annoying in the lockerroom, is a very good player. His defense is a little shabby, but he's a good scorer and he shoots a high %. Seems like there are a lot of places he could go. Will the Kandi man leave LA? It seems somewhat likely, as the Clippers have a reputation for letting good players leave if they want big contracts, and he's a very desirable prospect right now... will the owner get past his stinginess? Brand may leave with him, as he has been heard saying that he would really like to stay with a good center and not have to carry his team in rebounding like he did with the Bulls. The Clippers are teetering dangerously on the edge of collapse, after looking so promising. I can't remember if his contract is up this year, but will Duncan stick around? Besides Parker, the Spurs don't have much of a youth movement, and the reigning MVP may end up in limbo, never getting past the first or second round for years if he stays. Will Stockton and Malone actually leave (gasp!)? As I've said in another post, I strongly suspect Malone will want to break the scoring record, but I think this may be it for Stockton. Even if you hate those guys, the NBA won't be the same without them. ...and any other free agent situations.
I've got to seen Bonzi play a lot since I live in Portland and if he is indeed on the board we should definitley try to acquire him and play him at sf. He's an explosive player that can rebound, score, post and gets a lot of steals.
Has an option next year. Word is he may not opt out and play through the last year (2003-04) on his deal. Makes more sense financially. In addition to Parker they have Emanuel Ginobili on the way over from Europe. A second round pick in 1999 who, according to a number of scouts and team execs would be a lottery pick in this year's draft. 6'7" athletic swingman. Have their picks in this year's draft and next. Additional second rounder this year. Malik Rose should be back. One of the top 6th men in the league. 28 years old. Bowen should be back too. Some young guys on the bench...Daniels, Charles Smith, and Stephen Jackson. Oh yeah, and $30 million in cap flexibility in 2003 (with Duncan and Parker under contract).
He's more of a guard, not a small forward. We don't need a shooting guard, and I would rather have Cuttino Mobley than him.
