This was the most intense hailstorm I have ever driven through. It was seriously like a war zone out there, with tangerine sized hail pounding everything in sight. Several cars had there rear and side windows shattered. My windshield got cracked up pretty good, but she held together. Anyone else get caught in this?
I thought my house was being bombed. I was worried that I'd have some windows broken, but it turned out alright. The biggest piece that I found in my backyard was about the size of a big lemon.

(once youtube can process it...)
I got jacked driving back from Round Rock -- had to pull under an overpass at one point because the hail was completely covering the road and was pounding my car. I got the last protected spot on the left shoulder - people just started stopping in the middle of the freeway -- two lanes were filled with people parked on both sides. Others were driving way up the side on the steep part where the bridge meets the embankment. There were at least 35 to 40 cars crammed under it. I can't believe there wasn't a wreck with ice everywhere and people parked bumper to bumper.
dude you live near the lake? I ran out of my house and drove my car in the garage as fast as I can. My car looks alright, I got lucky.
Talked to a friend who lives near Anderson Mill and 183. Looks like that part of town got hit pretty bad with the golf ball sized stuff. Lots of cars damaged. Good news is that now you get to see that jerk Bill Dickason screaming on TV about hail damaged Kia's that are being deeply discounted. "183 and Anderson Mill, next to the water tower!"
That clown's down there, too? Does he do the "if we can't beat a new car Kia deal in Texas, we'll just give it to ya!" crap? Damn, he's annoying.
Yea it was pretty loud I was in the shower and I was wonder what was the noise I was hearing cameout Ice everywhere.
I picked these up off the ground after they had been "melting" for about 20 minutes. The damage to our property (cars, skylights, trees, roof, etc) is amazing. I live in NW Austin.
