They has a better coach leading a disciplinary team. They know how to take Yao out of the game. They are very consistent. I just can not believe RA let Boozer shot over Yao over, over again. Rick, please put Yao back to the game! We are surely able to beat Jazz.
Last night guys just stopped taking the open shot and started trying to take it to the hole waaaaay to much. They need to look at how the game is being called and adjust to it. Wafer and lowry missed to many layups which are usually high percentage shots but not against utah cause they contest everything. There was one time wafer could have just pulled up and shot a 3 but he chose to drive and lost the ball. These guys need to learn how to drive stop and pop. I want to play utah cause if we can't beat them then we don't deserve to move on.
Okur and Boozer are mildly talented. Not as good as they are made out to be, but they're potent threats against a bigger C (with outside shots and ballerina flop moves to take him out of the game). Millsap, Brewer, and Williams are incredible. Millsap is their Landry. Brewer is their Wafer. Deron is nothing that we have. They're a good team. Still, they're not significantly better than any of the other 6 West contenders that we face, but they beat us handily all the time. In watching the games, I have come to a conclusion for why this is. Some say its because Memo and Boozer can step out on Yao. Yes, this is an issue but I dont think its as big as another issue.... I have noticed this in probably the past 20 Rockets-Jazz games, including playoffs: The Jazz win 80% of the loose ball plays. "Energy plays", as the TNT crew called them last night. Everytime the ball squirts out of a pack, it goes to Boozer or Korver. I don't know if anyone else has ever noticed this... its like magnetism. It infuriates me, and I think its one of the keys to them winning. It is VERY demoralizing. We'll fight for an offensive board only to have the ball squirt out of the wrestling pack into the waiting arms of a Jazz player who more often than not immediately sinks the shot. I imagine that's gotta sink the Rocket's hearts a bit when it happens, especially guys like Battier/Scola/Lowry who are really giving it 100% out there. I think it has a snowball effect that takes us out of the game everytime we play the Jazz.. gets in our heads. I don't know what it is, but its enough to drive a man superstitious. Also, The Jazz are not better than the Rockets but... lol sorry.
On ClutchFans you usually have to give people the benefit of the doubt.. maybe English is their second language. But still.. hell yes.
If they're are not better then why do they beat us all the time? Sloan been running the same offense for 20yrs! Why can't we beat it?
Wats up with all the jazzhole luv on these posts...ya Losers go post somewhere else...jazz didn't beat us yesterday we beat ourselves....missed way to many open shots and layups to even beat a college team last nite. I think the rivalry got to their heads last night and they lost their poise....our offense got us plenty of open shots...it wasn't till the end of the 3rd that professionalism and poise was completely absent. Best part of that heartattack inducing night was after the game no respect was given to the other team....Rox just left the court hahaha
You can't stop taking it to the whole even if they do contest everything. You must finish. Living and dying by the Jumper against Utah is a recipe for disaster.
What is with all of the negativity? We lost in UT, it happens. The Jazz are tough on everyone in UT but if you notice we hung tough late into the 4th quarter. The Jazz are very beatable in a playoff series. They are terrible outside of UT and we have beaten them before at UT. Its not going to be easy but it is very possible! GO ROX!
Who do you want Yao to guard? He's too slow to guard any of the Jazz players and all of their big men can shoot outside.
Exactly, All Yao can do is force them to shoot jumpers and hope they miss. They key is making them pay on offense since they are too small for Yao.
The Rockets have a terrible time defending the Jazz. They seem to get any shot they want at times. And when we aren't hitting out shots like last night we don't win. I thought the refs were better than I have seen in prior games last night, but there have been many times where it was the opposite case. The Rox have to hit there shots to beat them. We should have gone into the 2nd qtr with a 10+ pt lead. and we needed Landry last night.
There is no Jazz love here, from me, lets be clear on that! I am in complete agreement with the fact that we killed ourselves too often last night, that's what I've been saying all day.
I disagree. This Rox team is more talented than the Jazz. But offensely they need get Yao involved; Defensely, RA needs to beat Sloan. I am tired to see Yao stay still and wait for Boozer's shoot over him. Boozer had never been a good shooter until he established his confidence in front of Yao by practicing shooting like that. If Scola played for the Jazz, he could easily do much better than Boozer. Can't RA make Yao get closer to Boozer? I remember JVG used to have Yao chase PGs, didn't he?
