    04 2-2
    05 2-2
    06 1-2
    07 1-3
    08 1-2
    09 2-2

If anything goes. This is the first time in the last 4 seasons that rox do not have a losing record against them.

There are many things wrong with that, Utah is not the best at anything, also in order to win a championship a team doesn't have to go through every single team in the postseason, duh, teams are avoided by being eliminated by others. So do you want to strip the rings from every team in history who has won the championship ?

We were in this game until there were just a couple minutes left, and we were a couple bad calls from taking the previous game. We could well be up 3-1 on this team.

Last year, we would have beaten them if Rafer was just healthy, IMO... even without Yao.

Sure, the Jazzholes aren't the best matchup for us. There are other teams I would rather face... But I think some of you guys overestimate the difficulty of that matchup, especially if we manage to get HCA.

    bad matchup, yes; unbeatable, hardly.

i just love how the "i hate the jazz" thread can go dozens of pages, and yet we try to avoid them "at all cost". let me ask, just how do we make sure we avoid them? all we can do is play our best and try to win games.

I do agree with you about the Rafer thing, as much as people don't want to believe it, but as you noticed there are many 2 guards that have their way with the Jazz, thats why the Rox were in it last year, because of Grady's performance, also Deke played defensive real well. But no Grady and having Yao in there well give the Rox a worse chance to win vs the Jazz.

No but why cry and whine if we have to face the jazz again? Because of the matchups? I would take this team beating the Jazz with playing with passion and heart. Someting the rockets haven't played with in previous years.

Any first round matchup will be tough, if we were to get out of the first round i would rather it be going through the jazz.

YEAH, I said it, i want to send the Jazz home this year!

As long as we have home court advantage, i wouldn't worry about the Jazz ... in fact, I'd like to beat them in the playoffs this year. Its our turn.

I’m kind of in the middle on this.

Part of me says if we’re scared of any team, we don’t deserve to be in the playoffs at all. What better way to avenge the last 2 years than beating the j*zz right out of the gate?

But another part of me sees no problem with not wanting to play the team that has eliminated us the last 2 years. It’s all about match ups and we match up horribly with the j*zz.

I’m more concerned about getting out of the 1st round this year than I am about getting revenge against the j*zz. I’d just assume try beating another team instead of the them. There’s nothing cowardly about not wanting to face a team in the 1st round that’s won 8 out of the last 11 playoff games against us.

but think of the satisfaction you would get after all those losses in the playoffs and finally with hard work and passion we eliminate them. How great that would feel?

It would feel about the same as beating any other team in the 1st round and actually advancing.

Think of the dissapointment you'd feel after ANOTHER loss to those wankers from Salt Lake if we lose to them AGAIN in the 1st rd. Honestly I couldn't take it.

I have ZERO problem with avoiding them in the first round but I'd like us to play them down the line, maybe in the 2nd round if possible but heck no I don't want us to play them again in the 1st. I ain't gonna let foolish pride get in the way of my wanting the Rockets to get out the 1st.

It's just so difficult to track it well. Do we want the Rockets to get that 2nd spot in the west and pray the Jazz don't fall back to 7th or do we hope the spurs get 2nd in the west and the Jazz don't stay in 6th but move up and win their conference or move down to 7th. Aaargh, i dunno.

Actually, the best case would be the for the Jazz to play the Lakers instead of us in the first round, but beat them.

We had home court advantage against them 2 years ago. We also had a 2-0 series lead at one point, along with a 3-2 lead as well. We went on to choke away the series in the next 2 elimination games.

I have no fear whatsoever of Portland, New Orleans, Denver, or dallas. I think we easily win 4-2 against any of those teams, home court or not. I just don't share the same confidence against the j*zz. Of all the teams mentioned, they are the only one that is better than their record indicates.

If we draw them, so be it. But if it were up to me, I'd choose another team in the 1st round. Once we get this HUGE 1st round chip off of our shoulders, the sky is the limit, IMO. Bring on any takers. But let's get out of the 1st round.

    post of the night.........

look man....j*zz are not world beaters or best team in the world or anything like that.......but they have owned us since the late 90's.....its just a fact..........

they always beat us with arguebly less talent all the dam time........in 97 and 98 it was the same thing man..........we had dream and clyde and barkley with solid role players and nothing............ beat us both times....

same thing in 07 and 08..............so what makes u want to face these guys again...I dont get it......

ask the mavs if they want nellie and the GSW in the first round......I bet half the team and cuban would rather knaw off there right arm than face that nightmare matchup in the first round......

its just fact..........they are a matchup nightmare for our post dominated offense and even worse for us to defend there drill seargeant jerry sloan executed offense with mobile jumpshooting frontcourt players.........they wont make mistakes....they have been thru boot camp for gods sake...

in the end they are not the best...but they are the best matchup and a recipe for disaster for yet another possible first round exit......thats pure facts not speculation

anybody who would rather face the j*zz.......as opposed to a young deer in the headlights portland squad, a inconsistent nuggets, or a overrated hornets squad neeeds there head checked

exactly...homecourt means squat to me against them....its the matchups dont matter if we played at the dam ymca gym or at fonde........

we had homecourt in 07 like drummer said.......and we stole the first 2 games in 08 which gave us homecourt again...........the end result is the same

my famous line is about to become my sig but let me say this yet again....FOR THE 10 THOUSANTH TIME

THE DEFINITION OF INSANITY IS TO REPEAT SOMTHING OVER AND OVER AGAIN, BUT TO EXPECT A DIFFERENT RESULT!!!!!!! :p ;) :D  :(  :)

Play who the seedings dictate, don't try to avoid a team. Need to play to win not loose to set up a certain matchup.
