Can we trade with Golden State?

I am thinking trade our number 1 overall to Golden State for their number 3 overall PLUS Antwan Jamison. Is there any way in hell they do this? We get our small forward in jamison and STILL the #3 pick to choose the guy from Italy or Woods or Gooden or Butler.

Is there any way G.S. does this?

Why would you want an overpaid, weiner, crybaby, bad shooting player like Jamison?

    I would trade #1 for #3+Jason Richardson.

His FG% is 45% and FT% is 73%, not a bad shooter considering how bad his teams offense is.

We might have to throw something else in but I like that trade. Richardson at the 3 and another pick to nab a big man. Nice...

Could Richardson play the 3? He's 6'6" at a stretch and people have complained that Butler is too short for SF even though he has an inch or 2 on Richardson and he's bigger. From a quickness and ballhandling standpoint Richardson would definitely add to our team, but defensively we'd have to work out an effective zone for that team to work.

Also, who is at #3 that we really want if we already have SF taken care of? The only other position we really need to fill is Center and there aren't any available with that pick. We could trade down again, but that would start making things extremely complex.

is richardson even 6'6"? either way he's strictly a two and we already have one in cuttino.
however, i'd do that trade if we can move him on for someone else and pick up butler or dunleavy with the #3.

I'd love to trade with GS, but not for Jamison. How about Danny Fortson? That way, everybody gets what they want:

    1) GS - Jay Williams (the pt guard they covet)
    2) Chi - Ming (the center that has stated he'd love to play in Chi)
    3) Hou - Dunleavy (the player Rudy wants + the 3rd best rebounder in the league)

Imagine what the Rockets would be like with a bonafide rebounder on the team! That then opens up all kinds of trade scenarios for Taylor and Thomas.

Jamison makes the MAX. If we were in the East, and needed a PF, then ok. But we're in the West, loaded with PFs, and can have KT do ANYTHING he can do at the 3.

I belive that Richardson is as untoutchable as anyone can be be in GS ... and trading up 2 spots and giving up a very talanted SG seems excessive to me especially since their is no clearcut number 1 pick in this draft and since GS desperatly needs depth ...

Agreed. G/S has made two things clear:

    * They need a point guard as the Larry Hughes experiement failed.

    * They're probably looking to deal Danny Fortson as they have depth in that area.

We get them to deal Danny to us (the 3rd best board man in the game) and the #3 pick for our #1 and we walk with two startes out of this draft. They get their point guard and Krause gets his center. Everybody goes home happy.

I really like this idea and it sounds like something the rockets would do. I have a feeling that they really like Dunleavy and being able to land a player like Fortson to go along with him would be huge. Fortson averaged around 12 rbs in 28 min. last year!

I am not so sure Fortson would be a good fit on the rockets ... while he rebounds like few others he just doesnt play defense ... if you get him would any of your starters be a good defender?

Hell, then he'd fit right in! :) Seriously, I certainly see the weakness in the scenario, but at the same time the Rockets have too many weapons not to score much more than they do. I think it has to do with the fact that our team it's "one and done" each time down the court. We've got to get some people that will go to the glass and get some boards. Pretty bad when you're best glass man is a 6'3" point guard :(

Fortson is really bad. He can't score, and he can't defend. The only thing he can do, is rebound.

Danny Forston is really really crappy player. He can't shoot a lick. He can't even make layups. He is a bad defender, always makeing bonehead fouls. He would lower the BBall IQ of the rockets alot. Please no Fortson.

The only player they have that is any good is Richardson maybe Troy Murphy.

I have the luxary, not beeing a Huston fan, to consider the fact that your PG is your top rebounder amusing ... :) . Anyway while you might not need any more scorers i would think a though rebounding defender would be just what you need ... The perfect man for Huston in my opinion is Caron Butler anyway he is a stretch at no1 so I see why you are interested in trading the no1 pick ...
