I think our situation in getting the number one pick is similar to the Spurs situation a few years back.

The Spurs had been a good team for several years, just like us. The Spurs had a terrible season due to injuries, just like us. The Spurs were able to get the number one pick in the draft, just like us. The draft that the Spurs got the number one pick, there was a highly coveted big man projected to go number one just like with us this year.

Can we be like the Spurs and turn our number one pick into a championship?

Hopefully the ring thing will happen again, but I don't think I could take another lockout.

Wasn't that Spurs championship awesome! Seriously, I don't think we're very analagous to the Spurs outside of the tanking. When the Spurs drafted Duncan, they had Robinson, Elliot and a bunch of scrubs. Looking at Ming, he isn't as developed as Duncan and will probably never be as good. But the Rockets have a much better young core than the Spurs have ever been able to dream of. I sure hope the Rockets' future is briughter than the Spurs' present.

Maybe we can turn our #1 pick into Tim Duncan, just like the Spurs did.
