Nah see, even if we do exceed his expectations he will still hate. He never gave the Warriors credit even though they made him look stupid. He said it was a fluke and then said Dallas played down to their level...even though GSW always owns Dallas.
Who cares if Barkley or anyone for that matter thinks we will win/lose by 10 points for the rest of the regular season. The critics have the upper hand till we prove them wrong by going deep into the post season...something that hasn't been done in the last 10 years. We are just on a high right now from the SAS game and expect everyone to be on our jock. It doesn't matter what they think...
To be honest the GS thing was a Fluke.... GS hasn't done anything since then; so he actually told the truth.
Yeah but see...Golden State is still beating the Mavs...that wasn't the fluke. Charles dismissed that they gave Dallas matchup problems...it wasn't a fluke because the better team ALWAYS wins in a 7 game series. He says that every year himself!
I hope the Rockets watched this or it was brought to their attention to add extra fire and motivation to win this game and shut Barkley up.
Even thought Barkley PLAYED for the Rockets he's a bitter Sun player that didn't take enough therapy after that Mario Elie "Kiss of Death" shot knocked Phoenix out of the playoffs after Phoenix blew a 3-1 series lead. Elie running in front of the Phoenix bench and blowing them a kiss I think.....Charles seriously has issues with that and it's never gonna leave without serious therapy....the drinking and gambling are only masking his pain.....
I agree that we shouldn't care what they think. But its very disappointing to play very well the past month only to have analysts basically go "yeah... they still suck". If you truely believe that no one should be able to acknowledge how good we've been playing, then there is a double standard there. Because on the one hand we can't get props for good play, yet on the other hand if we play badly in the playoffs, people are going to talk about how we should've won and that we blew it. Which is it? If we aren't good enough to earn respect before the playoffs, then we shouldn't get slammed for bad play in the playoffs, because thats supposed to be the norm right?
Too bad McGrady isn't playing. I remember last year (or maybe the year before) when Barkley was criticizing the Rockets and McGrady specifically and Tracy unleashed the (paraphrased) "all Charles knows about is eating" comment on national television. You can be sure if Mr. Sensitive aka Tracy McGrady was still playing we could get a "all Charles knows about is driving drunk" blast from him during this game. FYI - that's the only time you will ever hear me say I wish Tracy was playing.
Why is anything Barkley says noteworthy here? He'll never change his tune and even if he did it would be for shock value alone.
