hope we win tomorrow but a loss wouldnt hurt us that bad after denver and portlands L's tonight I want the blazers first round
A Win against the Jazz in Utah will be epic tomorrow night and it will leave us in great shape with only 9 games left.
Suddenly we would look VERY scary to the rest of the WC. That would be wins on the road against 4 other WC playoff teams in the month of march. And the thing is... Yao isn't lighting it up. Artest isn't lighting it up. You can't really put this on a fluke in any way. Last season you had Alston suddenly being a scoring threat, Landry and Scola looked great, and Tmac was playing at MVP level. This year... I guess Brooks is merging into his starter role nicely and Scola is looking very solid. But you can't really pin this streak of wins on one single thing.

The Southwest division leading Rockets had a well-deserved night off, but they got some serious help from a pair of entertaining games. The Nuggets feasted on scrub teams and brought a 5 game winning streak to Phoenix against a pretty Suns team who took advantage of a light schedule to build a 4 game winning streak. Neither team has looked good against Playoff-caliber teams lately. Phoenix scores points at an astronomical pace these days, and Enver doesn't like to play defense. I though the over\under for this game should have been 300. This game went back and forth, but once again Enver’s unclutch late play cost them a game. Grant Hill had 23 points, 10 boards, and 5 assists, and Steve Nash added 15 points and 9 assists for the Suns, who are now just 3 games behind Dallas for the last Playoff spot. Carmelo Anthony had 29 points, and Chauncey Billups added 20 points and 8 assists for Enver, who lose a Magic Number and currently do not have home court even though they keep a slim lead in their division. The 76ers and Blazers had an even more entertaining game in Portland. Phili built a big first half lead, then the Blazers came roaring back in the second to force overtime. The 76ers just had a bit more in the tank and picked up the win, finishing 3-2 on their 5 game road trip through the Western Conference. Andre Miller had 27 points and 10 rebounds, and Andre Iguodala and Thaddeus Young each scored 25 for the 76ers. LaMarcus Aldridge scored 24 points and 12 rebounds, and Greg Oden was impressive with 13 points and 8 rebounds in limited time due to foul trouble. The Blazers lose a Magic Number. Portland could have tied Enver for the division lead, but instead fall to the #7 seed, a full game back of Enver. They’re also only 1.5 games up on Dallas for #8, and the Mavericks own that tie break. It’s clear at this point that the Rockets are going to the Playoffs. It’s just a question of what seed we are, who our dance partner is, can we win the division, and can we get home court. It’s imperative to knock as many teams as we can off. A lot of people are complaining about the difficult schedule, but I say bring it on. We face almost all of our opposition and can take tie breaks from just about all of them and knock their Magic Numbers down 3 with a single win, starting tomorrow night when the Rockets travel to Utah. We’re up 2-1 in the season series, and a win tomorrow night would give us the tie break over Utah, dropping their Magic Number 3. With their difficult road schedule and the Probables left in ours, I would consider it a near certainty that we could find a combination of 7 Rocket wins and Jazz losses to close them out. This is not the same Jazz team we faced a few weeks ago, nor is it the same Rockets squad. Utah was rolling the last time we met, and we were a casualty in their 12 game winning streak. That streak is long gone, and the Jazz have looked lost lately, losing to good teams and barely beating bad ones. Of course they’re back at home, where they get a lot of calls and are a very impressive 29-6. The Rockets don’t have the uber-physical Carl Landry, but their teamwork seems a lot better. They have impressive road wins over the Nuggets, Hornets, and Spurs under their belt, and I think this Rockets team is ready to bring it in Utah and not collapse in the closing minutes. I’m predicting our winning streak goes to 5, and we keep the division lead another night. Also on tap for Tuesday: Lakers at Thieves, Warriors at Spurs
i'm also not too upset about our strength of schedule, having our mettle thoroughly tested prior to the playoffs should serve us well. the real downside is i would hate to see the hornets sneak up and take the division because their schedule has so many winnable games in it. anyway, i just want HCA in the first round and we should be alright. kick that jazz ass tonight!
You might wanna check that schedule again.... they have the most difficult last 6 games of any west team. They may have it easy for the rest of this week, but starting Sun they play SA then it's on for them.
thanks for the recap scribo. it seems that the games just keep getting bigger as the season winds down. i thought the spurs game was huge, but here we are again! by the way andre miller had 10 rebounds rather than assists.
you know, i did look over it right after i posted and realized it was tougher than i remembered it being. anyways, it's gonna be a dogfight.

Looking at the schedule, Phoenix could really help us out in their next 3 games. They get Utah at home and then travel to Portland & Utah. Utah does have a very difficult upcoming schedule, but may catch a break ending the season vs the Lakers. I could see the fakers resting their starters for the playoffs. Houston also has some tough games, but the good thing is we have plenty of days off between games. Take care of business tonight and then have the luxury of not playing until saturday.
I was looking at that too. Those 3 days we have off after tonight (and before a home game) could be very beneficial.
^ yeah, while we rest up a bit there will be some tough games being played. i agree it's nice we have that little break and it my be what we need to pull through the home stretch.
I don't think the Fakers want to lose HCA for the finals. Remember they are still 1 game behind Cleverland, and Cleverland is rolling
