Wade is great, but the treatment he gets from refs is just unfair to other players. If Yao is treated like Wade and gets all the calls on both ends, he'd be close to another Shaq.
His post reminded me of how some here used to say how good LeBron's cast was in Cleveland a couple of years ago.
He didn't go up against the Kobe/Shaq lakers...and he doesn't have corn rows and tatoos all over his body. But, honestly, Wade's playing much better than people think, in terms of all-time great seasons. Not many people have had a PER over 30 in a season.
Here are a few things: - Wade is shooting 49% from the floor. Iverson's has only shot close to that well ONE time in his career, way back in his second season when he shot 46%. - Wade has a TS% of 57.4%, better than Iverson's best effort in PHI of 53.5% (he beat that last year in Denver playing alongside Carmelo). - Wade has a PER of 30.58, far better than Iverson's career best of 25.9. - Wade is averaging 2.2 steals and 1.4 blocks and has become a very good on the ball defender. Iverson has always been a defensive liability because of his small stature and the risks he takes going for so many steals. Add to that the fact that Wade only takes 22 shots per game, compared to 26-28 shots per game in Iverson's prime. So his teammates probably like him more.
Wade is top shelf, and so is Lebron... But there is only one player in the league right now that is flat out unguardable/unstoppable. And that's Mr. Bryant. The only thing that can stop Kobe is a bad shooting night. And that only happens because he is human... I think. But anyway, GO ROCKETS!!!
kobe won with a dominant shaq wade has won a ring with a shaq that was more of a crutch in the finals imo ill take wade over bryant

Great story. Wade to me is definitely more humble than Kobe or LeBron. This guy has a big heart, not to mention he's hilarious in the T-Mobile commericals.
I said a "more marquee". As in compared to LBJ's cast this year, and especially the year the Cavs went to the finals, not literally as in they are marquee players. Gimpy O'neal, Beasley and Chalmers certainly sounds a hell of a lot more promising than Ben Wallace, Mo Williams and Delonte West.
Wade's greatness is tainted by all the palming non-calls he gets away with. Latest examples at the 1:00 mark and the 1:10 mark. The one at 1:00 is in the open court, right in front of the ref, unobstructed view. Pathetic. <object width="480" height="295"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/0JPDEPRbQxA&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/0JPDEPRbQxA&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="295"></embed></object>
So, you're sticking with the story that a rookie second round pick (Chalmers) is a better teammate to have than a veteran all-star (Williams)? I can agree with you that O'Neal is better than Wallace at this point, but he's not better than Z, who puts up almost exactly the same numbers in fewer minutes.
Don't use labels like "rookie", "second-round" and "all-star" to prove your point, what matters are the players and their talent level, not their years played. Derrick Rose is "just" a rookie player, while Williams is like you said, is a bonafide all-star. So is Williams better than Rose? But I digress, if you're going to compare players, I'd say the entire roster is more or less the same. You have O'Neal vs Zydrunas, but then you have Varejao vs Haslem, Beasley against Williams, Chalmers against Delonte West the net sum of which IMHO favors the Heat in terms of talent. The Heat also has Mark Blount, Jamaal Magloire (who was an East All-star) and Jamario Moon, all of which are very serviceable players. But which team has the better talent is academic, you cannot deny that the talent levels on both teams are relatively the same. But the Heat with Wade are fighting for a playoff spot, while the Cavs have the East 1st seed locked up and are contending for a 'chip. That's the main difference. Crap Heat Team + Wade= playoffs Crap Cavs Team+ LBJ= Finals Case closed IMHO
LBJ is IMHO already or just a little under MJ's prime right now. Give him 2-3 years and he'll leave MJ in the dust.
