I sure as hell dont feel angry with the Nuggets for knocking the Sonics out of the first round in '94. Thanks DEKE!!!!
As long as we don't squander any home games, yes. Having said that, I would only want to play them as a last resort. Denver/Portland/New Orleans would all be much better match ups for us.
Utah has a pretty tough schedule to finish out including 7 road games against good teams. I hope they fall to #8 and have to play the Lakers in the first round.
No we can't. the rosters havn't changed. We still have Yao Ming who can't guard Boozer or Okur. You guys are letting this Spurs victory get to your heads. While it is a great win, Yao has always been able to guard Duncan and affect his shot, as seen today with a huge block in the final minute. That freebie layup Yao gave to Parker? Just imagine Deron doing that except Deron is a better shooter. Yao still can't guard the pick and roll, which the Jazz run to perfection. Yao can't guard anyone on the Jazz. They are just a bad matchup for us. We won't ever beat them with Yao Ming.
rox will have home court advantage...and the worst opposing team is utah... i can see rox beating hornets, dallas, portland, even denver and spurs, but utah is tough and dirty...
i do believe we can beat the jazz, but even yao himself admits that boozer always eat him alive in their food chain. i hope we won't meet the jazz in the 1st round.
Subtract TMAC, Luther Head, Bobby Jackson, Rafer Alston Add Yao, Ron Artest, Kyle Lowry, Brent Barry, Von Wafer That's a fairly significant turnover. Barring an injury to Yao, the Rockets will have 3 different starters than they did last year and almost a completely different bench with Carl Landry (get well soon) and Chuck Hayes being the only holdovers. The Jazz are largely unchanged. Pretty much the same lineup and bench except for adding Brevin Knight and CJ Miles and AK47 switching starter/reserve roles. But the Rockets are a pretty different team this year.
I don't like our chances against them because they play rough, and when we try to push back, they flop. Either way, we lose.
Frankly speaking,I think we can beat every team except Lakers and Utah.Deron is just the one that we can not get over...
I'd rather have it that we lose to the Jazz in an epic 7 game series, rather than go to the second round knowing that we will always be their b****es.
I think it depends whether our RAs show up. If Artest and Adelman leave their brains again somewhere (ala NO game), then no way in hell we beat the Jazz. If they do bring their brains with them, we should beat the Jazz in 5 games or so.
Without Tmac, it is possible to beat Utah and any other team. better teamwork, better defense, better determination, better winning spirit...a lot more
