at least thats what i'm predicting.

rockets will probably draft mike miller with the lower 10 seed.

rasherd lewis is apparently going to sign with houston as reported by one on one sports.

cuttino mobley is gone folks, no way he stays.he's thinking green not team.

david robinson will sign with us i believe for one year since his contract is up, tim duncan is leaving , aj , elie and sean will probably retire (with aj landing with the knicks) and he does'nt want to leave to far from home but still wants to go after one more. i can see it the twin towers "the dream and the admiral" kind of old huh.

    next years lineup:

    pf:lewis/cato
    sf:williams/miller/rogers
    c: olajuwon/robinson
    sg:anderson/drew
    pg:francis/norris

    ------------------
johnny "red" kerr:i'm glad the bulls did'nt draft steve francis.

    dan roan: why!!!!!

johnny red kerr:because he would forever be compared to michael jordan.

God I hope you are wrong. I do want a big man from San Antonion, but not that softy Robinson. And mobley gone? I highly doubt he is going to leave.

Well first of all, Robinson wont sign here so just dont think about it. But Robinson can still play like he is 25.

On to the cuttino thing, if cuttino gets offered more $$$$$ , dont even be surprised if the cat is outta here.

Then the fans were mislead, when earlier in the season Cat talked about his buddy Francis and playing together etc. The Rockets should have traded him for something of value instead of watching him walk away this summer.

Ok, one more time, Rashard Lewis won't be signing with Houston as a free agent. The most the Rockets can offer Lewis is the $2.3M exception. Seattle has the right of first refusal on Lewis, so all they'd have to do to keep Lewis is offer him the same exception as Houston. Seattle is not going to let Lewis walk for $2.3M. Mobley's situation is the same as Lewis'. If Mobley signed an offer sheet with another team for their exception, do you think that the Rockets would hesistate to match?

Only way Lewis ends up a Rocket next season is through a trade.

aelliot-Wouldn't Rashard have to accept Seattle's sheet? If a player doesn't want to be where he is, he'll be traded ASAP. See Scottie Pippen. A sign and trade wouldn't be that hard to do.

I'm looking forward to the draft. I'd either pick up Oyededji or Miller or Miles, or if we get #1/#2/#3, Kenyon Martin.

DRob would play for a $1 million exception, but why not stay in San Antonio for him? The Rockets are unlikely to chase for a ring this year.

I think we'll get Rashard, but I dunno about the Cat. A month ago, I thought he was a lock to stay. Last night on the news (I forget what channel) the reporter was talking to him, here's about how the conversation went:

Reporter: Cuttino, will you be staying a Rocket next year?
Mobley: I want to be paid what I'm worth. Reporter: All things being equal, would you resign with the Rockets?
    Mobley: No Comment.
    Reporter: No Comment?
Mobley: Let's just say I'm keeping you guessing and leave it at that.

I don't like the sound of that....

Robinson IS NOT going to sign for the $1 million exception.

I'm beginning not to like Mobley's attitude very much. Cuttino WILL be offered more than the Rockets can afford(not that they don't want to pay him). He better not be trying to break the bank. Can't we offer him more than an exception since he is our own free agent?

Nope. You don't get offer sheets from your current team. Lewis could sign an offer sheet with any team except Seattle. Once he signs that offer sheet, Seattle only has to be able to match the offer and they keep him.

This is different than the situations that you usually see because Lewis is a restricted free agent. I can't ever recall a sign and trade deal for a restricted free agent. Usually it's an unrestricted free agent, because they've got the leverage that if their current team doesn't trade them then they're free to sign with whomever they wish. Lewis doesn't have that option.

If a player doesn't want to be where he is, he'll be traded ASAP. See Scottie Pippen. A sign and trade wouldn't be that hard to do.

Tell that to Mo Taylor or Othella Harrington.

Tyrone Nesby tried to sign with the Spurs but the Clippers matched it and so he had to stay in L.A.

Do you think he would have consciously chosen to stay with the worst franchise ever over the just-crowned World Champions who needed a starting small forward desperately?

    Brahma Rocket,
Why do you think that David Robinson will sign with the Rockets??? What's in it for him??? I would think he would want to end his playing career with the same team.

I can not see the Admiral leaving the Spurs to join the Rockets... It makes no sense to me.

I don't want Robinson and Lewis is not worth Cat. Robinson is too old, Miller in the draft is a common rumor and I think it wouldn't be a bad pickup, I'll take Lewis if he costs the team nothing and there is no way I would ever let Cat go.

    Just wishing.

No cap space available to do the deal.
Same feelings as trading Dream in Houston for them to do a sign-n-trade with Houston on the Admiral.

Houston moved Pip last fall because of big contract and declining skills. Getting the Admiral with a serious contract would be repeating the same thing.

He wouldn't sign a lowball exception.
