Just a bit of a personal update... some of you may have read previous threads in months past and could be curious. As you'll recall, my wife was laid-off from her job early this year. This came at a time when I was still looking for a job to help make ends meet (as I have been for about the last 3 years, but more intensely over the last 2 years). As it would end up, my wife was contacted by another company during her severance time and was making plans to pursue another career... The day after we had gone through with setting up a new phone line, fax system and buying business cards with the new career, her previous employer called her back and offered her another position. This was at about 3 weeks into her unemployed time frame. Needless to say, she took the position and in the last 3 weeks she has already had the opportunity to earn more than before (she has the right to earn commission again)! In the meantime, the new career path that recruited her ended up recruiting me, and I have already earned more in a little over a week than a third of what I grossed in all of 2008. I just wanted to post this thread as reminder to all of us who are out there in the rat race, facing the daily grind... NEVER give up! NEVER stop searching! NEVER quit! Persevere! Be persistent! Go after your dreams! Good things still come to those who wait... It will happen if you believe it. So sleep well, fellow Clutchfans... I'm praying for you all, and believing for a better year in 2009 for all of us. p.s. - My kids' health has been just great once they got over all the nasty flu/bronchitis/pneumonia junk... Since mid-February our "funk" has gone away in all aspects of life. Praise God!
It's glad to hear something great coming from someone, especially in a time like this! I'm glad to hear it.
Always good to see that things are going well for the clutchfans ole'timers - we've all grown quite a bit since we first joined the boards and it's nice to see that we still happen to have something in common after all these years. (thanks Clutch) I have quietly read about your journey on the board while I was going through one of my own and it would appear as though we both made it out okay. Here's to your continued peace and prosperity!
Something good for my spirit. I am not doing good though, lost my 6 figure job, can't sell the house, can't lower the mortgage, can't find another job...... HOpe this is not the end of me.
Words to live by. When you're out of work and the prospects don't look too promising, it's really easy to slip into that "funk". I know exactly what that feels like. Fortunately, I had a wife that was 100% supportive and backed up my every decision. And I'm happier now than I've ever been. I'd just add one more thing: Don't be afraid to reinvent yourself. It's never too late to try a new path. YOU CAN DO IT!
Good to hear man. Always good to see things falling in to place, especially when things seem like they're just getting worse and worse.
Great to hear man. Glad things worked out for you. I'm in that funk and I've been in it since I graduated college 4 years ago, it's like a rollercoaster sometimes. You're up you're down, it's not fun at all. It's great you and your wife were there for each other, thats how it should be.
