    This seems like this teleprompter stuff would be important if that's the only time we saw him speak. But given that he has held more press conferences in his first 2 months than his predecessor did in 8 years, and that he's been about as open as can be about answering unpredicatble questions - doing town halls, Leno, and 60 Minutes this week alone - it all seems fairly irrelevant.

    you know that Obama is doing a great job as president when wingnuts have nothing to criticize other than his public speaking abilities, which are superior to any president in American history (spare Kennedy, Clinton, and FDR maybe)

    obama's great at reading, and lousy as hell as formulating his own opinions. Makes me wonder if he even wrote the two books he published.

    there was a guy in the early 1860s that was pretty talented as well, and he wrote his own material.

    Basso, he fair. Obama already tried on that hat as well as the JFK, FDR and HST hats. Maybe GW is next, but so far he just can't find one that's big enough to fit his head. :D

    Ummm, the whole teleprompter issue thing suggests he's *not* as great at reading, but his ability to handle interviews and town halls suggests he is fine speaking off the cuff.

    Pet peeve of mine, but why would you write "superior to any president in American history" and then list three who are better off the top of your head. That doesn't even begin to include presidents who have no taped speeches to compare to.
