Brooks/Yao pick and roll should be our go to play in crunch time if Yao is fronted. Brooks has the speed to get to the rim and if he's doubled then Yao is wide open for a jump shot or a pass to a cutting player, like Scola.

Of course Yao in the post is still our first option, but good teams take that away from us at the end of games.

Though Yao played horribly for 3 quarters, I have to come to his defense in saying that Spurs really benefit from having Kurt Thomas on the team. It makes it so that Yao has to guard Duncan on one end of the court, but Duncan doesn't have to guard him. In fact, Duncan pretty much just roams around in the paint area, since Scola isn't exactly a post threat. However, on the offensive end, Thomas is a very very solid post defender, which makes it hard for Yao to put up big numbers.

    Yao is only a center.

    .......

    Sometimes, it's more than that.
    Much more.

    great BIG win.

If we could be the Yao fronting, it would not have been so close.

    this win was very satisfying.

They beat us on our home court. We came back and beat them on their court.

To win in the playoffs, you have to win on the road. AB is learning, Lowry is learning, Wafer is gonna learn.

Can't wait to have Landry back.

I'm just glad to see some offensive execution in the final few minutes. Better than the chicken with the head cut off play.

I think Shane is getting his shot back.

The best teams win the close games. I am still kind of pissed when it got changed to the Food Channel. Very douchey.

I don't really care cause the Rockets won, but does anyone know why Drew Gooden didn't play much? Is it because Pop didn't trust him for the close games?

Credit Adelman for making that adjustment with Yao, I've been saying that when the defenses don't allow Yao to get the ball in the low block Yao should move to the high post and shoot, facilitate, be a screen or run that high pick and roll. He did that and those were critical buckets on Yao passes. Shane also came through, his shooting is critical for us to make some noise in the playoffs. Didn't like that RA played as much as he did against Parker, Lowry was clearly better but we got the win.

ABC shame on you for dropping this game.

This was a better game than Detroit VS Miami.
Yao didn't score much but made 2 excellent passes in the end.

The only sad part was that it wouldve been seen nationwide if only ABC didn't drop it

O holy night, the Rockets are brightly shining!
It is the night of the dear playoff birth.
Long lay the Spurs in sin and error playing.
Till Scola appeared and the Yao felt its worth.
A thrill of hope the weary Rocket-fan rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.
Fall on your knees! Oh, hear the coaches voices!....

he definitely has been making young mistakes...more so recently. If he isnt scoring he isnt doing much else and gets abused by his man on defense.

If you saw the game, you would know why. 5 turnovers and fronting defense.
