Let me give you the two main reasons why the Kings are going to lose in 5. 1) They rather flop than play D. 2) They whine and b**** about every call. Yea, the Lakers get calls. But why is it that the Kings b**** about the Lakers getting the calls DURING the play? And how many freakin times does Shaq get hacked (especially down the stretch) and just kept playing. And all the f**kin floppin!! God, that is hideous. Reminds me alot about Karla and the Jazz when Olajuwon use to tell the Mailbitch to stop flopping and whining. Mental. Its all mental. The edge goes to the Lakers. They will win in 5.
I mentioned this during the Dallas series, and it, along with the axiom that the playoffs, at least in today's NBA, are about who has the best two players, is what separates the Lakers from the Kings. That being said, I'd hardly call what the Lakers did for the majority of the game the norm for them. Devon freakin' George was immaculate out there; Lindsay Hunter who is one of, if not the, worst playoff performers in NBA history, managed to not embarass himself and even hit a shot, and the other role players did their damage as we've come to expect. How they would have fared with a not apprehensive Vlade and Webber in the second half, and what effect a half-decent offensive output from either Turkoglu or Christie would have had on the game remains to be seen.
When I saw this topic title, I thought it would be about who would be joinin Karl Malone as "NBA Players, thought to be good, who didn't win a championship" Well, it wasn't but I will expand on my thoughts. Chris Webber - I don't think he'll make it this year and I don't think he can lead a team on his own to the finals. Stockton - See Malone. Juwan Howard - Tried with Dallas, but got traded. Anfernee Hardaway - Had a good chance with Shaq, and then with J-Kidd but still couldn't do it. Grant Hill - The one highly touted "Next MJ" got his career shot up with many injuries. Jerry Stackhouse - Maybe, if he gets someone else that can score. Rasheed Wallace - Temper will hold him down. Reggie Miller - Great career, never had that supporting cast. Shawn Kemp - Great chance with Payton in 96, but went downhill from there. Gary Payton - Still has somewhat a chance, but needs more parts. Patrick Ewing - Could've done it with Spreewell, Houston, but never stepped up. Dikembe Mutombo - Couldn't handle Shaq. Mitch Richmond - God they had a great Bullets team. Sheed, Webber.... Some still have a chance but most are out of their prime now and were once All-Stars and could've led their teams to championships.
I was impressed to see the Kings at least control their temper a bit today, even though there was some horrible calls.
