Hmm... I didn't see a thread anywhere on the NHL playoffs, and I thought this series deserved one. Like the NBA's WCF, the Western Finals are essentially the championship in hockey, with two of the best teams in a long time-- Detroit and Colorado. Anyway, for those who watch hockey, what's your take on this? I know Detroit has so many stars, but I'm an Avs fan, and I love their response to pressure situations. Thier inconsistency concerns me, particularly defensively, but I love this team's heart when put against the wall. If the Avs again lack intensity in the first couple of games, they could see themselves in a hole that might be too difficult to climb out of against the Wings. However, they are the champs, and I really hope they step up their game and intensity the way they did against San Jose in games 6 and 7. If Roy can come close to matching Hasek in productivity, I think Colorado wins this series, based on the way Sakic and Forsberg are playing offensively. Avs in 6. Thoughts, predictions?
I think who ever wins this series takes the Cup and i think that will be the Avs.. THey know what it takes to win and Roy hasn't been to great, he will step it up and bring home ANOTHER cup to Denver
argh...i'm not really a fan of any of the four teams left... my teams to follow were the Sharks and Sens.... I guess i'm gonna have to go for T.O. and the leafs...c'mon sundin...come back!
This will be a great series. I am sticking with Detroit as I have for the past 10 years. I think Hasek and Robitaille want a cup pretty badly and its now or never for them. Either way, The West should win the cup regardless who it is.
