Well, I'm getting in my car fixing to go home as I waited out a bad thunderstorm.

Well, I get into my Maxima and to my horror, I see freaking water dripping from the interior light like I have a leak. I got to thinking that I might have not closed my sunroof all the way, but I thought I did.

Anyway, I have concluded it can be one of three things:

    1) It's a f*cking leak
    2) Something is wrong with the sunroof, i.e. won't close all the way
    3) It was just a freak thing (the one I hope it was)

If it is one of the first 2, then I'm wondering how much this is going to cost me to get fixed. I have given up on the Nissan dealership where I live because they will definitely skull-f*ck you if you give them the chance.

There is an independent place that is pretty good and I was thinking about checking them out.

Maybe this will only be like 20 to 30 bucks and not hundreds of dollars.

Oh well, this has really pissed me off!

I've had two cars with sunroofs, and both of them had problems with the little rubberzed stuff that made the seal. Both were fairly cheap to repair.

I can feel your pain. My head gaskets are blown. $85.00 for the gaskets, and if I fix them myself, I have to rip the top off of my engine and I lose the freon from my a/c. If I take it in, it'll cost me $250-300.00. Car problems suck!!!

If it is indeed the weatherstripping that is fatigued that is not hard to replace. I'd try JCWhitney.com for weatherstripping and perhaps some tech will repair it on the side or do it yourself.

I'd also search around for replacement stripping, usually it is not cheap but Whitney is pretty decent for that stuff.

Any evidence the sunroof got messed up by an attempted break in ?

Nah, I fortunately have never had to worry about that. At least I don't think that could happen considering where I live, but stranger things have happened.

I got 2 neighbors who are good at car stuff and I'll probably let them take a look at it and hell, who knows, maybe they will help me fix it.

    It could have been worse...

One night I forgot to close my sun roof (I mean it was open as wide as it would open) and there was a downpour ALL NIGHT long and when I woke up I had about 3 inches of water standing in my floorboard.
