I admit it...I turned it off after the 1st OT. I was pissed off that Artest shot a long jumpshot at the end of regulation and then shot some crazy off-balance shot at the end of the 1st OT. Meanwhile, they are penetrating for easy baskets. I thought we could have gotten some better shots in those situations. I felt like we were going to lose this game and I didn't want to lose sleep time staying up to watch it. I'm glad I was wrong. I'm glad we finally put them away but I would hardly call that a good game. Our defensive rebounding sucked, they seemingly penetrated at will, our defense was slopping, and we couldn't put them away even though they were shooting in the 30% range and we were around 50%. Hay caramba!
It was a good win. Bottom line. It was huge cause portland, denver, and new orleans all won last night!
Yao was beastly last night, great game On the next NBA Live 2010, they should have shane battier rated 0 on offense. You shouldnt even be allowed to score with him. NBA LIVE 2010 Controlling Shane Battier on Playstion 3 Offense You shouldn't be able to shoot the ball with battier X -button- Pass O -button- Headfake [] -button- Crossover /\ button - Take A Charge R1 -button- Alley hoop pass R2 -button- Stand around & watch Yao in the post L1- Dissappear in the 4th L2- Flop
WIN A WIN.12 MORE GAMES LEFT. BETTER BEAT THE WOLVES ON FRIDAY HOPEFULLY BLOW THEM OUT SO SEE WHAT WHITE CAN REALLY DO.
Yao was clutch, Artest was often out of control, but his good balances out his bad. Battier was out there "running around;" staying in shape not doing much else. His performance does not warrant his minutes. Detroit was passionate, who lite them up? Scola had a bad night, so did Hayes. Wafer was effective except he missed some defensive assignments; he doesn't get the court time he should. Landry was missed. Worst rebounding I have ever seen. The game was much more exciting than it should have been. I know the record, I know his history, etc. etc., but Adelman just seems a step behind. The plays coming out of timeouts are, what can I say, head scratchers.
This was an ugly win. No one came to play. The game seemed as if it was being played in slow motion. With this type of effort, we can't expect much out of the playoffs. It just seems like we always play DOWN to our competition instead of them playing to ours. DET was without Rip, Rasheed, and AI and yet it still took us 2 OT to beat them. Had we been focused and ready from the start, we could have easily put this team away instead of giving them hope and possibly a win: Herrmann's shot was half in before we got lucky. Plus, we could have given our starters an early rest instead of piling up their minutes. Go Rockets!!!
Yeah, good thing we dont get this kind of effort against the likes of Utah, San Antonio, LA, New Orleans, Denver, Portland, Boston, Cleveland, etc.
i would agree that with artest.... during the course of the game, his good may outweigh his bad. but in the closing minutes or rather seconds of the 4th. dude, it can really mean consistently taking lower percentage shots or a high percentage shot from yao or created by yao. those one legged fadaways after dribbling awkwardly for 15 seconds before launching isn't good at all for this team. we can do better. he should not be allowed to showcase for his contract to the detriment of the rockets team.
It's a hard win. we should finish it in 48 mins. but anyway the result is good. I hope this game could give us more confidence to win a close game. Good game YAO, GO ROX.
He is such a team player, he did enough in the deffence. He could play offence if he really wants. Dont you remembered the clutch he made? you shouldnt ask for more.
That's why I thought his post was pretty funny I could see all the players running around on offense and Battier standing there bracing himself for a charge.
