Lenny Cooke and DeAngelo Collins are highschoolers. Cooke is a swingman and Collins is a power forward. Both should be available when we pick in the second round. Don't know if either are worth it. Cooke may go to college but Collins has hired an agent. NBADraft.net says Cooke is a slasher and good rebounder with a poor outside shot. They don't know anything about Collins' game.

Well, I'm a high school senior. If I had a profile on nbadraft.net, it might look something like this:

    Greg#3
    6' 0", 145 lbs.
Klein Forest HS / Texas A&M signee

Strengths: Unlike Amare, I've only attended one high school and I'm a heck of a lot smarter than Lenny Cooke. Those qualities translate into team loyalty and smart, disciplined play.

Weaknesses: Lack of height, lack of athleticism, slow by any standard, no jump shot, can't dunk, hasn't played basketball since 7th grade.

Overall: Could certainly produce as a "Stat Boy" for PTI but not yet, or ever, NBA material. Should go to school and get his degree. Possible career as 12th man at A&M. Outside chance of making the team at A&M to improve the team GPA.

What do y'all think about picking up Cooke with one of our 2nd round picks? We could let him go play in Europe or the NBDL for atleast a season and come back next season with a chance to make the roster. This also gives us a player who probably would be a first round pick next year, which we do not have (Memphis/Stevie trade). I don't know a whole lot about this kid, but he apparently killed people at the ABCD or Nike camp last year. If we do become a breaking team then he could be another horse on the wing atleast. We should only do this should we not have a player that we think can contribute now (i.e. a backup point or another big post).

Remember Rashard Lewis went early in the 2nd rd. Of course, he is a tall small foward, and Lenny Cooke is a swingman. That being said, are they even comparable in the talent area? I mean, we all knew Rashard had game coming out of high schoool, so is Cooke's game anywhere near as good as Lewis's when he was drafted?
