This is a knee jerk thread. But seriously, Scola please don't try that again... When was the last time you successfully draw a foul on a play like that? Please, just shoot it straight. We know you are a good mid range shooter, just don't try to twist your body and double clutch in the air before shooting the ball...
game thread, anyone? I guess I might as well add that Battier needs to stop flopping. He has flopped at least 3 times in OT.
i agree. i like Scola, but you have to admit....thats the same kinda crap that makes us HATE the Jazz... unnecessary.
Agree. He is not good at it and he trues to hard to get the call in those situations. just play your game and shoot the shot. we are more likely to get the points that way.
I never thought Scola would ever get a knee jerk thread T_T. Thought no one is person, i believe he is still the most consistent rocket
That's the same thing I was always thinking, it's not only ugly, but also in most of the cases ends up with no whistle
Love Scola but yea he should stop trying to draw that foul. lol Sadly his jumpshot just wasnt going in today. I did find it interesting that Adelman had him play so many minutes Landry or no Landry. I kept waiting for Scola to get replaced with Hayes but it never happened.
it was extremely painful to watch.....i must say and then when he did it again i almost pulled my eyeballs out it was so hard to watch
scola shoots tiptoed, and the defender barely needs to jump to block his shots. its pretty much impossible to draw a foul in that situation.
Now that everyone knows he'll try todraw the foul, he should go straight up with it. The defender won't try to block it, thinking Scola's trying to draw the foul.
he does sometimes gets the foul called....but i'd rather have him shoot it than draw that foul, at least dont travel on it
There's a bit of advantage of it as his release is fast. the defender would think that the offensive player would take a jumpshot but Scola's jumpshot doesn't have alot of jump so that can surprise the defender? i don't know lol
I think he did it twice in the last game, too. My bigger concern is that it looked like Scola was intimidated by McDyess tonight. McDyess bullied him on both ends and absolutely dominated him on the boards. Boozer did the same thing to Scola last time we played the Jazz. On top of that, our lack of frontcourt athleticism showed tonight much like it has in the past against some of the other more athletic frontcourts. Whenever we play teams like the Blazers and the Sixers, our frontcourt seems to have difficulty grabbing boards and preventing second chance points. As much as I love Scola's hustle and general consistency, I still think we need a longer, more athletic 4 next to Yao if we want to avoid games like tonight. An example would be a guy like Camby (just an example). If he was playing along side Yao tonight, they probably get 5-10 less offensive boards and we win going away.
