Sweet ending. Kobe was struggling big time, but hit a clutch jumper to put the Lakers up two. Iguodala answers with a 3 at the buzzer. The Lakers, for some reason, didn't foul when they had one to give. http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=290317013
Yeah 1 foul to give and Iguodala was dribbling out the time. Should have fouled, but I like the results.
Watched it, sweet ending. love it when lakers lose. Lakers either went brain dead on the foul to give or thought the 76ers didn't have it in them to go for the win.
That was beautiful!!! Donyell Marshall killed the Lakers in the 4th quarter just like he did the Heat on Sunday. Talk about a player coming back from the dead. I don't watch the Sixers much but I think Marshall plays about as much as Deke. What made Iggy's shot so great was it came after Kobe hit the clutch shot to put the Lakers up by 2 and the home crowd was buzzing. IMO, the best shot in NBA basketball is a buzzer-beater by the road team. Nothing like it!
I only saw the closing minutes. What was Philadelphia doing to shut down Kobe like that? The Rockets always seem to be at his mercy.
I took the over, so i needed a 2 for OT. either way, Detroit covered me up against the mavs, so it was a good night.
It wasn't so much them shutting down Kobe. He was missing shots of similar difficulty that he hit against the Rockets. If he had shared the ball more, the Lakers probably would have won the game. One of Kobe's major flaws is even when his shot isn't falling, he will still iso 4-5 possessions in a row late in games while his teammates watch him miss. When Pau came back in with ~5 minutes left, every time he touched the ball it was a basket or 2 FTs. The Sixers didn't know what to do with him. IMO, very poor judgment down the stretch by Kobe & PJ. This was a senseless loss for them, but I'm glad for it.
possibly, but only against the team they match up pretty well with, cleveland, even if cleveland is like 30-1 at home. boston somehow lost to the bulls (i saw the score was 97-96 and just figured boston would put them away) and the lakers have them by 4 losses and the tiebreaker, so essentially 5 games. and homecourt for them against boston would be a much bigger deal, imo. of course they still have to get through the west first.
Assuming the Cavs wake up from their slumber (don't let the 9-1 in the last 10 games fool you), they will finish with the best record regardless of today. Their last 15 games only have a couple that are really challenging. Meanwhile, the Lakers have a 7-game road trip to the East starting this weekend. I could see them going anywhere from 7-0 to 4-3, depending on their concentration level.
I know how you feel. I still have Larry Hughes' buzzer beater against the Jazz from earlier this season on my DVR. I love seeing that crowd deflated.
I saw that one too. AWESOME shot that punctured the obnoxious Jazz crowd. Couldn't have happened in a better place.
GREAT shot and couldn't be happier about the outcome. P.S. Pull up Kobe's shot chart. He's definitely molding himself into primarily a pull-up and fadeaway offensive player anymore.
a trap game against the Warriors is followed by a six game road trip for the Lakers . all six games are winnable gimme game for them they are 5-4 in their last 9 and look like they have hit a stretch of WEAK SAUCE. let's not hand the Lakers the title yet.
