OK, since there is a cable channel for basically everything, I've decided to jump into the fray and offer my idea for a cable channel. A cable channel featuring nothing but shows that got cancelled early in their lifetimes. I'm talking about shows that lasted maybe one or two seasons, or perhaps less than a season. Let's face it...Sometimes a good show gets stuck in a bad time slot or gets shuffled around in favor of other shows and gets axed prematurely. This would be a chance for fans of these shows to enjoy them again. There are a lot of shows that I liked that got canned after a season or two... ...of course, some shows basically just sucked and never had a chance to begin with, and we could look back at these shows and just laugh at how bad they were... You know that the TV networks don't throw these old shows away. There are literally miles and miles of old TV shows lying around collecting dust, and I say we should take advantage of it... "Next, on TV GRAVEYARD, it's Cop Rock, followed by Herman's Head, and then back to back episodes of Emeril!"
TV Land used to do that sometimes on weekends. I loved being able to see such shows at "Working Girl" starring Sandra Bullock and "Ferris Bueller" starring that guy who replaced Charles in Charge on Diagnosis Murder. I would likely watch a cancel such as this one.
You know you just want to see reruns of Parker Lewis Can't Lose. BTW, did anyone know Jennifer Aniston played Jeanie, Ferris' sister in the sitcom? I didn't.
I did. Sadly, I watched that show when it was originally on. For that matter, I watched pretty much all of the failed Jennifer Aniston sitcoms including such gems as "Malloy" (with a pre-Blossom Miyam Bialik) and that one sketch show that I forgot the name of "The Edge"? maybe?) and that one with Stephanie Hodge (from "Unhappily Ever After") playing her mother. By the by, Ami Dolenz (daughter of the Monkee) played Sloan Peterson on the TV version of Ferris.
Freaks and Geeks wasn't cancelled because it sucked. It was cancelled because... because... oh wait, that's right, it was cancelled for *no reason*. Still bitter about it. God I loved that show. Elvis' idea for a cable channel is a variety show network, like TV Land but for all those sixties and seventies talk/performance weeklies. Can you imagine all the cool stuff you could see? Iggy Pop on the Dinah Shore show... Donny and Marie... the Sonny and Cher show... I mean, back then the *Starland Vocal Band* had a variety show! I suppose there would be problems clearing the rights, or something? I can't imagine why it hasn't been done, otherwise...
I would love your channel, A-Train, if you played plenty of Get a Life, The State, Upright Citizens Brigade and Family Guy.
My cable channel would consist of nothing but reality TV shows. COPS, RealTV, America's Funniest Home videos, Worlds Scariest, Wildest, Craziest, Dumbest Police Chases and live feeds from CCTV's from around the world!!!
My channel would consist of nothing butt beautiful girls in tiny bikini's AND NO DAMN COMMERCIALS!!!! teenie weenie bikini's all the time
I think that is a GREAT idea A-Train. I'd love to see episodes of the 80s "SledgeHammer" again, and any number of other shows that I liked, but got put in bad timeslots, or weren't all that great.
"...coming up after BATTLESTAR GALLACTICA, a very special episode of HARDCASTLE AND MCCORMICK followed by SUPERTRAIN."
