CD really didn't have the pedegree of being a good GM. He was a good evaluator of talent when it comes to coaching but not as knowing what a player is financally worth or judge of potential of fitting in on a roster.
who dare you compare a player of Landry's composition to Stromile "I don't want to run" Swift. Swift could out rebound Landry but Landry would scare him away from the ball. in his words-Gimme That!
Stromile Swift is in the same class as Benoit Benjamin. Loaded with talent, but lack of desire to want to be a good player. Swift might be the laziest, most non-dedicated player in the history of the league.
Nah, Eddy Curry was "smart" enough to earn a near max contract before he pulled the "Get paid, get fat, stop caring" card. Andrew Bynum would do well to take notice of Curry's career and vow not to repeat it.
Is Carl Landry the player that we though we would be getting when we acquired Stromile Swift? An athletic 4 who can attack the rim, get a lot of weak side blocks, and run the floor? Yea, seems like it. Carl MANDRY!
All it took is for one moron to start and other shall follow. I think like only4 people have posted towards the subject.
No question: Landry > Swift So yeah, I would say so? Landry gives you much more hustle and energy (not only when he dunks). Oh did I forget to mention a good outside shot along with a decent FT percentage? He just plays so hard he takes some nasty falls :\
Carl Landry is a much better player IMO... They are probably equal in terms of statistics, but CL plays with heart and passion... Swift is a lazy gifted athlete who did not take advantage of his potential...
I wouldn't say so. Landry is obviously the better player by FAR, and in pretty much every aspect of the game, but the chants at the time were for a defensive minded, heavy rebounding PF who could be an enforcer for Yao and block shots (this was always a small-picture view in my opinion). Landry is more of an offensive / hustle presence than a defensive one, though his defense seems to have improved (I'm not looking at numbers to back that up). His rebounding is great, but he doesn't really block shots. That said, who cares that he doesn't fit what some fans thought was needed anymore?
