the hornets are a 2-man team with cp3 and west. i think byron has been wanting to change that a bit, but just hasn't got the right players.

i think we won on mainly on defense late in the game tonight. cp3 is almost impossible to stop, but lowry's d in the 4th was as good as it gets. paul even shot an airball at one time. and adelman put ron on west when scola sat (who also played solid d). big reason why they only scored like 35 pts in the second half.

the lakers and jazz might be our worst matchups in the 1st round, but i don't think we're hopeless against either one. for anybody else, we'd matchup pretty well.

nice to see lowry playing in the 4th.

i say start lowry and play ab in the 2nd unit. We could use the scoring in the 2nd unit anyway.

    Armchair Observations:

Got a bad feeling when I learned Yao was sick. What to do?

The Rockets did plenty! Out hustled NO for every loose ball (and some that weren't loose). Taking charges. Diving on the floor for the ball. Not at all intimidated by the Hornets and their home court. Didn't get caught up in arguing with the refs - let NO do that. Never, never gave up! Barry only played a couple of minutes but was an effective assistant coach on the floor. Chuck only played a few, but rebounded, confounded, and too NO out of their sets. Unselfish, TEAM basketball!

    fellas, I'm very impressed!

Which makes the close losses at home that more bitter.

Great Win!! Good team effrort and defensive plays. I hate that CP3 is starting to look like one of those flop expert aka white team aka jazzholes!

Developing consistency is a must, otherwise this could end up as an aberration.
I'm encouraged by what happened today, but anything can happen with the Rockets.

Matt Bullard with the call of the night

"Chris Paul playing ring around the rosy with a pocket full of Posey in the corner."

Cracked me up. HUGE win tonight as well.

If injured McGrady did not play some of the games, we could have 1-5 more wins than we currently do. That would be something else...

Anyway, finish the season strong with 8-5 for the remaining 13 scheduled games and the Rockets finish with 52 wins. That's not bad. Anything more than that is a great finish.

    Upcoming winning teams-
    Pistons (tomorrow)
    Spurs
    Jazz
    Suns
    Lakers
    Blazers
    Magic
    Hornets
    Mavericks

    Losing teams-
    Wolves
    Clippers
    Kings
    Warriors

8-5 is a good finish. 9-4 is possible. 10-3 is asking for too much :D

The Rockets should welcome playing the very good teams. Win or lose, that should toughen them up for the playoffs, and smooth the rough edges in the process.

The kid has been learning in the past few games and it shows. He was wide open for a 3 pointer, but he passed to an open Landry for an easy dunk!

Ok, i want to say, we have a great win tonight, i watch the game from starting to end. Although Artest have a bad beginning, but from the 3rd quarter, he boosted again. Yao is not on the court, but this team, all the guys, play like the fist, hit the wasp, yes, at last we win, ereryone did his job well, contribute their energy to the whole team.
