Here's the quote from Feigen's article, which Clutch's front page links to: Instead, the Grizzlies only have to accept a pick other than the Rockets' own selection -- which they are not about to surrender -- if the pick in question is among the top 13. I don't see what in this language prevents us from throwing in a little something extra to trade up from #15 to #13, then telling Memphis to take #13 and shove it, whether they like it or not.
I think if you look at the players coming out next year, the number 15 this year would be like a 6 or 7 next. Also the flexibility that it gives us to make some deals this year on a good draft make the 15 even more valuable.
summertime, summertime, sum sum summertime. Or, as Will commented, "when it became safe. when there were no other games to lose", lol. (paraphrase, btw). how are you pippendagimp?
I've actually been counting the hours till Sunday evening's ping pong extravaganza....Hoping Stevie can pull a wabbit outta his hat for us Regarding more games to potentially lose, don't forget the RMR!!
LOL, exactly. I think you have something here. The problem is, of course, turning the 15 into the 13. But.. maybe it's not so difficult, or maybe that's not the path. #5 + ? for #8 and #12 maybe? Then try to trade the #12 for the #13 and $. I guess it depends on the Rockets' analysis of their playoff probabilities for next year. Maybe they can find out about Stockton's plans for next season before the draft. LOL. The good thing about those games is that they'll only be $5 a piece. Here's to having a decent player to watch this revue....
I feel the Rockets are going to trade the #15 pick for another one next year and then use that to ship it to Memphis. If we look at our team today, we have enough depth if healthy and don't really need another journey-man. -Tariq
I've got a new one for you Achebe, Pick Woods and trade him to Washington for their #11 this year and their unrestricted #1 next year. Take Nene and Nochbar with the #11 and #15 (or package them for Tzika), then watch the Wizards return to suckage as Jordan banks everything on raw talent. hehehe
It is way too early for making that call. Last year at this time, J Williams, Wagnor, and Gooden were it for this draft. Certainly, some college players next year will have break out years and go pro.
Exactly. Geez, and what if the Rockets can't put it together next year and end up in the lottery. What if it were the Rockets turn to get the #1 or #2? With the Lebron James hype, that #1 could be very valuable.
My mindset after last year's RMR was that this year would be soo anti-climatic. After all, how would we have any decent picks after going so deep into the playoffs? Now, I'm looking forward to it again.
