You don't penetrate looking to pass. You penetrate because you just broke someone down and if they collapse, then you pass. Your intentions are predicated on the defense. If you have a step, you take it in. I can read all these dumb ass reasons of why brooks isn't a pg, but like I've said all last night, but fishers job is different from nash which is different from parker. Everone job is different.

    Leeb,

It is amazing how often we agree.....got to be a threat to score....if you go in looking to pass, teams are just going to drop back and close out the angles at the last minute.

The are trying to make AB a Parker like PG.......

ive said this before about brooks. he reminds me of a young sam cassell. i remember spitting on my tv b/c cassell made some stupid decisions with the ball or blew a layup or was getting burned on the defensive end.

but we all knew kenny smith was the better decision maker altho i recall spitting on my tv everytime kenny smith walked the ball up the court and gave the defense time to double/triple olajuwon...

point being... we turned out okay in the end. i believe in this team. we've lost close games to the top 2 teams in the west and arguably in the league.
brooks will learn from his mistakes and i think thats adelmans reason for having him in instead of lowry. better he make these mistakes now than in the playoffs.

I will give AB the benefit of the doubt. As he is young and still learning the ropes. But I hope he learns fast from his mistakes. Driving into Tim Duncan in the waning minutes of a close game is a no no. He should watch a replay of the game and make some adjustments. Maybe he should go for an assist rather than score.

He drive by not into Duncan and block him self in the last game, AB can make those shoots and is better than take a jumper like most of finisher do in close games.

There is a reason why RA keep calling the last play for him.

Only players that take the last shoot are either heroes or villains. In the game he score over Shaq he is a Hero then fail vs Duncan he is a Villain. That's what finishers need to deal when call to make the last shoot, AB is not afraid and is the best option we got now, I don't want Artest running over five player to force a shoot, or forcing the ball to Yao on the low post.

Brooks is too young for this, we need find someone else to finish the game. Artest or Yao may be the better choice for now.

we should've won that game last night! i was hoping we'd win so we can get closer to that 2nd seed..as game wise, nobody really played that well..we did play good defense but we jus couldn't score when we need to..

We agree but when Artest's man came off him he needs to learn to pass the rock. That is an inate ability of a true PG & cant be learned. It's a feel thing either you have or you dont.

Why does he take the most shots of anybody on the team?

A true PG doesn't lead the team in FGA & have 0 asst.

After seeing Parker and Duncan PnRed Rockets apart, wondering why AB/Lowry cannot do that with Yao or Scola or Landry.

With Scola/Landry/Yao bread and butter jumper, shouldn't we have more success than any other team?

Yao can not catch on the move consistently and his window for receiving a pass is much smaller because of his speed limitations.

Come on, that cannot be THE reason. I don't see any PnR attempts, period.
It's either not in their brains or they suck really at it.

What's your opinion of not pairing up our PGs with Scola/Landry on the high post for PnR? Scola's jumper is really stable, and Landry is just as good if not better.

I'm elated at the win. Great play all around from everyone. Stepped up big time in the absence of Yao.

-- Found it interesting that the New Orleans color commentator had to school the play-by-play guy.

    * "It's not a travel if you don't get up." @ Lwory falling down with the ball
    * "It's still continuation if you don't do another dribble after the whistle" @ Paul's And-1.
