Desert Scar - Thx. All the rhetoric got me confused. So the range is: WORST CASE - All of the wheels come of the wagon, next years pick is 5-8 Lotto. BEST CASE - Firing on all cylinders, make playoffs and give pick 17 thru 21. MID CASE - MoT @ 85%, 15 productive mpg from Rice, 10% improvement in EG, Cat maintains, SF has migranes reduced to once a week, Cato plays like last 20-25 games of this season, no season ending injuries in summer through January, solid vet with MCE, some production from draft pick(s). Pick range is 12 to 16 IMHO, the greatest probability is that the pick will be 14 or 15. This seems like a no brainer to me. A dollar this summer has more utility value than a dollar next summer. Keep the pick. Especially if it turns into Tskitishvili. (Sorry Will...unless you know something about next summer that we have missed)!
An important reality, however, is maybe Rudy/CD's jobs are on the line. If they keep the pick and lose next year's, the pressure is even greater to make the playoffs. If they have another year like this year, or not much better, and then add insult to injury by having to give up a no. 5-8 pick, you would think they are goners. The flip side is maybe they want to keep the pick or use it to trade up, so that they get another good player this year that helps them make the playoffs and save their jobs.
Worst case is you keep the #15 and end up in the lottery next season. You say 5-8, imagine the explosion on this board if it is #1 overall. IMO, it is not worth the risk. Even our pick next year to Detroit is #1 protected(LeBron protection). If you think you are a playoff team, the chances of the #15 pick in this draft making a big impact are minimal.
It's been recently reported that the Grizz can reject the Raptor pick, even if we offer it to them...so the choice really isn't ours to be made...

I don't see why so many people are talking about giving up the Toronto pick anyway. Why wait another year to pick? So we can get a player who's a year younger and even less expereinced? This is a strong draft and I so no need in giving up the pick. Pick now...there's no need to wait.
Now that we´ve got the top pick (YEEEEEEEEEEEES!!!!!!!!!) I think we should keep the 15th and try to improve as much as we can now (however Rudy and CD see fit), and next year, hopefully, our pick will be lower than 15.
