Why does Dirk and Amare (2 of the most overrated bigs ever) get so much more credit than Pau? Sure they score alot but they get abused on the other end of the court, on the regular, not saying Pau is a stopper but he tries. Pau took the grizzlies to the playoffs with little help and got the Lakers to the finals.
Dirk does the same thing, he tries to rebound and play defense. Although he is sub-par at both, he does give the same effort as Gasol. The main thing why I put Dirk over Gasol is well #1 he did sweep Gasol's Grizzlies in 2006. Also, Dirk was the lead dog for the Mavericks when they reached the Finals. Not to mention he's 4-0 at Game 7's, along with his 50 points in his last one against the Spurs in the Semi-Finals. Gasol was led by Kobe Bryant, sure Gasol did a great job in the playoffs. But he wasn't as much of a focal point on offense as Dirk was in Dallas. Kobe was the focal point for the Lakers on offense last season.
I don't care if he tries, which he doesn't, he is a terrible defender. Once teams figure out you can throw a wing man on him, like the warriors did, he folds. With his height and athleticism he could be dominating the league right now...but he'd rather be soft and take fadeway jumpers and 3's. What other superstar big man shoots 47%?
You just said Gasol tries, and now you don't care? I'll take a guess and just say he have a personal vendetta against Dirk, though I do agree he choked against the Warriors.
Well, i meant that i think Gasol tries and actually plays atleast average D. It's hard to prove whether or not someone is actually "trying" hard, so I choose not to care for that part of the discussion. Personally, i find it hard to believe that a player with his height and athletic ability can try and be so porous on D. ...and I do think he is one of the worst players to ever win MVP.
1. Duncan 2. Garnett 3. AL JEFFERSON (plays center but is really a PF) 4. Gasol 5. Brand 6. Stoudemire 7. Jamison 8. Bosh 9. Boozer 10. Randolph
You have got to be kidding me, how is Josh Smith not on any of the lists? This kid is a border-line all star
KEYWORD: BORDERLINE. The players on everyone's lists ARE actual All-Stars. Some have won MVP's and also have rings as well. I like Josh Smith but I'm not sure he's even top 15 or 20. He's got a long long way to go. Also all the players everyone has on their lists have averaged 20-10 at least one season with the exception of Gasol who was off by .02 one year. Smith is far from that as well and I'm not sure he can ever put up those kinds of numbers.
Tough list. If Tim Duncan is a PF then how is Jefferson not a PF? 1. Duncan (Great all around) 2. Dirk (Best shooter/Offense) 3. KG (Great all around/on the downhill though) 4. Gasol (Very skilled offensively) 5. Jefferson (Great post offense) 6. Amare (Most athletic) 7. Bosh (Poor man's KG) 8. Boozer (A product of team offense system) 9. Lamar Odom (Good all around/under appreciated) 10. David West (See Boozer) Others: Brand (Too Injured), Jamison (All offense, NO D), Murphy (No body knows him)
Bosh being a poor man's KG? Please. KG played defense, rebounding and wasn't soft. CB4 is the opposite of all of that. Lamar Odom is a SF, playing PF if you ask me too.
scola is a good role player, but having him 9th over all seriously makes you a homer, cmon he's not that good.
Best List 1. Duncan 2. Garnett 3. Dirk 4. Gasol 5. Brand 6. Stoudemire 7. Al Jefferson 8. Bosh 9. Boozer 10. Randolph
WRONG, if he plays center, he is a center, NOT a power forward. Plus he is not as good as those other guys, he puts up good numbers because he is on one of the most untalented teams I have ever seen
He's the best center in the league, 2nd best if Duncan is. Duncan is a power forward to, he technically plays power forward and lists Matt Bonner as a center.
Why do you think they list Bonner as a center, when Duncan does the opening jump, guards the opposing center, and is guarded by the opposing center?
