A worrying thought is the Blazers signing Nash. March 13, 2009: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/ian_thomsen/03/13/notes/
Suns have a team option on Nash's remaining $13.125M contract for next season. If they do not pick it up they'll be under LT by around $6.12M. If they pick up Nash's contract they'll be over LT by around $7M.

The least the Suns can take back if they trade Nash is $10.5M.

    Artest(S&T, $8M)+Brooks+Lowry/Hayes for Nash
    or
Brooks, Landry, Lowry, Cook, Dorsey for Nash
    or
    3-way trade: T-Mac for Dunleavy+Daniels(can waive for $0)+Diener , then send Daniels(can waive for $0)+Brooks/Lowry+Landry for Nash
*This 3-way scenario would allow the Suns to stay under LT.

For how long when he turns 36 next year? and with his stats trending down?

Trade brooks or lowry and play Nash & the other 24 mpg each at the point, with both taking some minutes at the 2 - esp. if Wafer remains boneheaded and low IQ.

Nash would be good to really implement the RA offense. Just don't give him many years or much money. He is too old for either.

wow, didn't realize nash is that old already. but pg's playing life last longer than other positions. but if we can get him at right price, I will definitely take Nash. Not the best choice, but better than run our young pgs as starters, and nash can be their teacher. The price we will pay for nash is the key.Not Tmac, not Brooks, Landry, Lowry, Cook, Dorsey also, those high price will destroy our chnace to build a elite team

The slower the game is, the less effective Nash is.

Keep the young guns, look how Portland has became. I'm glad if our future is as bright as theirs.

Nash will cause Yao to foul out in the first quarter with his horrible defense. I have not seen Nash contain a single point guard in the league.

If you think Brooks is a defensive liability, just wait until you give Nash a try.

With nash's experience and intelligence, I believe nash can do much better jobs than Brooks. However, his defence ability and run and gun game may not match rockets, even though nash played half court games before.

I'd take Nash in a second. That being said, he has stated many times he wants to go to NY. He'd be a 1 year rental.

No thanks, but if Morey could trade AB for Nash, that'd be a good trade though.

Lowry shoulda been a starting PG for us since he's brought here.AB's awesome, his quickness could kill most of the guards who's guarding him during the game but when it comes to the playoffs,we're talking about how stable our PG is to control the tempo up on the court.Unfortunately,I don't see any ability of AB having control on the court while he's running the point.

    Exactly.

Plus our team will slow down Nash and contain Nash ourselves...

i would be very much against moving either of our young PG's for a one year rental.

where did it get the jets this season?

Why Nash? Bibby will be in the market and give it a try.

how old is bibby now? how is his game going? I haven't wathed bibby's game since the old king. Maybe bibby can be a good pick up, since he knows RA's system well enough and having a good relation with Ron.

there's no way we trade BOTH of our pgs for nash. We'd be giving up a big piece of our future, making the Suns better in the long run, and setting ourselves up to be in a very bad pg situation in a year or two, with guys like Yao and scola in their prime and they're not going ot be happy about throwing away a year to search or accomodate a new pg.

Why does this thread have 2 stars? I don't agree with his premise but it's pretty obvious the OP put a great deal of time/effort into his post, something that can't be said about 99% of the threads littering the first page.

I don't know about Nash, he's a great point guard but he's much better in a run and gun system. Yao is not an explosive big man like an Amare Stoudemire.

I would love to have Nash but we have Kyle Lowry if we send Brooks out for him. I'll be happy to have Nash. It's probably not happening though since we got Lowry.
